Welcome to My World!!

My favorite quote...We all live in hiding. In one way or another each of us conceal pieces of ourselves from the rest of the world. Some people hide because their lives depend on it. Others because they don't like being seen. And then there are those special cases, the ones who hide because they just want someone to care enough to look for them...Which one are you?

I Think Of You Often

There are many days where I think of taking the time to sit down and write a blog post and I don't know why I don't just do it.  Maybe I need something dramatic going on in my life or feeling like I'm on the edge of disaster to get me back to this place.  I cannot even say for sure if that is what has lead me back here today.  Regardless, I'm back...

Not much has changed in my life.  Work is still crazy.  My son is still moody.  I'm still fighting the battle of the bulge and am losing.  My man is still where he has been the last several years.  We remain as always hopeful and pray that this year is our year.  We shall see...soon.  We are set to see the board some time next week and it could be weeks before we find out our fate.  I guess at that time we just have to rely on faith.  I don't know what else we could rely on.

In an attempt to treat myself last Friday I left work early and took myself to see "Magic Mike."  It was a good movie.  Better than I anticipated.  Of course I could have used lots more scenes of Channing Tatum stripping, but who couldn't use that!!

At this very moment my house is dead silent...as my son obliterates other gamers on Call of Duty.  Just another Tuesday night in my world.

It Has Been A Long, Long Time~~Some Things Change, Some Things Stay The Same

I know it has been a while...a little over 3 months, but I thought I would try to make my way back. I had hoped that I would start blogging again on New Year's Day, but that didn't happen...opps!  A lot has been going on over here in my world.  So many things change and yet so many things remain the same!

There have been lots of changes with my family in the last couple of months...some for the good, some for the not so good.  Such is life...  More on that another day.

Work has gotten crazy.  I now have 370 files.  Yes, you read that correct....370 files.  50 of those are litigation files, 20 of them are what we call "subrogation" files but 7 of those I have filed suit on, and the remaining 30 I'm monitoring other attorneys and their work and serving as the "client".  To say that I am busy is an understatement!!

Being that busy at work has lead to severe stress, which has lead to tears on more than one occasion.  This may or may not have happened a few times in my office without witnesses, once with a witness, and once in my boss's office.  I know this isn't suppose to happen, but what is a girl to do when with less than 6 months into her practice she is given 370 files.  Seriously?!  I know...don't be such a girl.  Whatever!!

I'm trying my best to handle the work stress.  Some days are better than others...

So what's new in your life in the last 3+ months?!

The Next Step Already?!?

Apparently the next step in my life is getting sworn in so I can get my P# to practice. I would have thought I would have gotten one day off from questions, but I didn't. All conversations went as such, "Congratulations! When are you being sworn in?" Um, hello?!? I've known for a milli-second that I passed. Let me have a moment!

Of course the weather situation isn't helping either. Constant rain for the week isn't the weather I want when I'm going off to be sworn in. I know...priorities!

Let Me Help You Get Home

Another exhausting day has passed. Thursdays are so long for me with having to go to work, then class, then back to work. Plus with the crazy stuff at work it was really hard to leave school and not just drive straight home this afternoon. But I returned to work and ended up working till 8pm. :(

On my way home I stopped to a local gas station to fill up, grab smokes and a diet coke. There may have also been a trip to Arby's inside that occurred as well. While I was filling up I saw a beat-up old Jeep Cherokee sitting there with a sign on it that read "Out of Gas" and my heart just sank. I had a debate in my head as to whether I should help or not. After pumping my gas I opted to go and park and as I walked past the back of the Jeep I looked at their plates and they were definitely not local! They were actually from 3 states away. At that moment I made my decision, walked over and knocked on the driver's window. I filled their tank to help get them home and only asked that they remember this and in the future they pay it forward for someone else! They were really appreciative and since they had 322 miles to drive over the next 5.5 hours I can feel good about helping them get over halfway home. I would just hope that someone would do it for me or a loved one of mine if they were 3 states from home without gas.

Due East

As you all know I went from an Explorer to my new car, an Escape.  Well, on my way home the other night I got lost because a road I was on became another road and didn't end up where I thought it would.  Now mind you, I'm usually pretty good at direction and recovering myself when I'm lost.  However, once I had my Explorer I really started relying on the directional information provided on the instrumental panel.

So when I got lost I called my aunt to arrange dinner at a local new German & Irish place, which by the way was totally delicious, I told my aunt that I needed to read the book for my new car and might have to take it to the dealer, because no matter which direction I was going my car kept reading "E" for East.  I found my way back to where I needed to go, got home and we had a wonderful dinner out.

After dinner we had to return a birthday gift of the munchkin.  After leaving the store and driving back home my aunt tells me that when I turned that the corner that my car flipped and said we were headed NE and I looked and it still said E.  Then she pointed to what she was looking at...she was looking at the dashboard screen.  After I busted out laughing I realized why I always thought I was headed Due East....it was actually telling me x-# of miles to "E" for Empty!  LOL

Needless to say I need to read my Escape book for other reasons, but not because I'm always headed East.  My explorer is still on my mind and in my eyes...and my aunt is more observant than me!
