Some Random Updating...

Nothing I hate more than realizing after it is too late that you missed one little towel in the laundry! Ugh!! I just went to gather my last load of laundry and realized I forgot my bathmat towel when I gathered all of the towels in the house to wash in the previous load! Fiddlesticks!! Of course I can't put it with my last load, because that is all work stuff and I'm just not willing to put a burgundy bathmat in with my delicates...

In an effort to tackel and start winning my battle of the (really big) bulge, my friend suggested going to www.sparkpeople.com. Well, I went this morning and I love it. What I love the most is the fact that they do have an app for my crackberry!! I can tally my calories for the day, figure out my calorie burn and run "reports" to track my progress! I'm totally in love with it. I am really hopeful that this little app will help me as I continue to struggle in my weight-loss journey! And the best part is the fact that when I open up the app it gives me the following message,
"Welcome jlynnscrazylife. To reach your goal, you can eat 165 to 515 more calories today. You have no fitness minutes scheduled for today."

One of the reasons I think this might really help me is because it shows the amount of calories I am consuming. It is a little shocking at first... I know I'm not alone when I say, I have no idea how many calories I really am consuming. I try my best, but without it being in my face in black & white it just isn't accurate. I'm sure I'm also not alone when I say I am guilty of under estimating the amount of calories in foods. Like who would have thought that the one and only meal I had today from Arby's would have been 1,635 calories. That is crazy!! But now I know! I may not be perfect and I know with the holiday weekend it isn't going to be great, but I now feel like I'm better prepared for the upcoming days, weeks and months as I continue my battle of the bulge...

Happy Father's Day 2010!

On this early Sunday morning I would like to wish all of the Dads, Granddads, Soon-to-be-Dads, and all of the men (& sometimes the women & Moms) who play the role of Dad a great big Happy Father's Day!!! :) You do so much for us throughout life and have such an important role in so many lives I would like to say "Thank You for everything you all do!" Now go out and enjoy your day!! :)

In other news around here...well, I haven't made much more progress since my early evening update, but I'm okay with that! After I posted last night my body was getting tired of sitting here on my love seat and between my ass starting to ache and my back stiffening up I decided to take my Tax book, my highlighter, and my pen to my room to read. Well folks...that is all she wrote until I woke up this morning at 4:30am! Opps. You would think I would have learned by now that if I lay down I fall asleep! Apparently I have not learned this lesson yet...

With waking up early this morning all that really means for me is the fact that I have to do my weekly weigh-in earlier. And since all I ate yesterday was a big fat steak fajita burrito (my left overs from dinner w/my lsbff stuffed into a flour tortilla) and that large frosty I woke up famished, I knew I had to weigh in immediately so I could eat! So that is what I did! I did keep in mind the fact that I have ate like shit for the last two weeks, I didn't get to the gym last week and mother-nature has been penciled in for arrival since Friday and then I hopped up on those scales. Today's stats:

Starting weight (7/8/09): 363lbs
Current weight: 322.0lbs
This week's results: +2.4lbs
Total weight lost: -41lbs

Okay...not great, but not nearly as bad as I feared! So I can deal with it. I just need to remember all of this and now plan to execute! I know it sounds stupid, but I cannot begin to execute on a Sunday. There are too many fluid factors while sitting at home studying. If I try to execute today it will actually be worse for me. Probably doesn't sound rationale, but it is the way my mind works. Instead I will just do my thing today and plan to begin executing my plan tomorrow!

Now that I'm well rested back to reading I go...

So Many Things...Can't Even Post About 'Em...Mental Overload

Made it the gym again today! Woo-hoo. 20 mins on the treadmill, 40 mins on the upper body machines, 20 more mins on the treadmill. :) I'm so proud of me! hehehe

Earlier in the day I finally got my wish...our computers were down at work all damn day! I wish I had gotten more done of "my" stuff but I did get several things done. Coupons clipped, school notes typed up, my man's PB letter drafted, caught up on emails, etc...

I came across so many things to post about that my mind became overloaded and I can't seem to post any of them. Go figure. I guess I could mention my hometown hero that will be buried tomorrow after losing his life in Afghanistan. (Thank you SGT. You are loved and will be greatly missed.) I could mention the ass at the gym who switched one of the TVs to Glenn Beck and then walked away and never looked at the TV again...nice dude! I could post about the fact that my boss who I revealed my diabetes diagnosis to tried to force me to eat sweets today. WTF?!? Too many things have lead to mental overload...

A Little Hodge-Podge for a Monday

This morning we woke up to a pile of snow outside our door! We had about 5.5 inches, which had fallen since 10pm last night. I'm so tired of the snow. Spring needs to hurry the heck up! I'm so sick of the cold weather, the snowy roads and having to wear a coat!

In an effort to keep challenging myself, not on purpose mind you, I went to the gym again tonight. That wasn't the challenging part! The real challenge tonight was the fact that I read Trial Practice while doing about 40 mins on the treadmill! Oh yeah...and I didn't fall off! I'm so proud of myself!! Of course my "highlighting" looks like I am a crack addict going through DTs, but beggars cannot be choosers! Of course now I am completely exhausted.

I picked up my test results tonight in order to take them to the specialist tomorrow morning and I'm happy to report that they keep going down. I was actually presently surprised with my A1C since this was after the holidays and my meltdown too. Then I start to wonder...how low could it have been if I wouldn't have had my meltdown just recently! I'm anxious to see what she has to say in the morning about these latest results. Since I'm not exactly sure if I will ever be able to get the Creatinine down to normal or even if it is a possibility for me anymore, but I keep hoping! Here are my test results for the last three times...

First Time in 2010

For the first time this year I made it to the gym. I didn't do a lot, did 20 minutes on the treadmill, but I'm exhausted and my legs hurt. Sad really. I guess 20 minutes is better than no minutes, right?

I accomplished very little from my list today, but I did bust my ass at work today (see work, I promised!) and I still have a ton of stuff to do...

I need mother nature to knock really, really soon. I just scarfed down 8 pieces of sugar-free chocolates, which totally defeats that 20 minutes on the treadmill. They make it sugar-free and still yummy, but why can't they make it calorie-free and still yummy?

One of my famous hodge-podge posts...

What a day Monday was. I wore a whole new outfit and felt great in it! I got several compliments on my top and while I was in the elevator I had sinister thoughts about wearing my top as a dress for my man (within the confines of the house, of course) since it was about an inch past my fingertips. I thought...pair it up with my new black boots and woowzers! hehe Then the hammer came crashing down on my feeling great and sexy when I got off the elevator, went and weighed in @ WWs and found out I stayed the same. Ugh...I stayed out of the halloween candy and only ate one tootsie roll Saturday and what do I have to show for that and the hour and fifteen minutes of walking that same night? Nada!!

I tried putting a positive spin on it in my head that at least I didn't gain, right? I know what my problem is. I have a new addiction...a Wendy's Single w/Cheese on the weekends. I need to break that addiction pronto!! I do so great during the week, but the weekend while I'm struggling with my homework and trying to get everything else done that I need to get done I become weak and begin craving Wendy's! I haven't really ate Wendy's in years until here lately. WTF?! Okay...I have to get this under control.

So feeling deflated, I went back to work and tried to get as much done as I could since I have Tuesday off to work on my response motion due Thursday night. That worked fairly well. I have about 4 things on my desk that I really wanted to get done before I left @ 5pm, but I didn't. Well, there is always Wednesday!

I had absolutely no desire to go to class, especially Litigation. I should have listened to my gut and skipped and read for PR instead. The class just felt like a waste. Both MyMormonGirl & I are totally lost in what we did and irritated that we actually went to class. And my thoughts were reaffirmed when I was called on in PR and wasn't prepared. :( I had a horrible feeling all day that I would be called on in PR and it wasn't going to be pretty. My feeling was so strong that I had decided that if I ran in to Prof. D in the halls before class I was going to kill off a family member and ask not to be called on due to that family death...

My gut was correct...I was called on in PR and the look on my face must have told one hell of a story, because Prof. D asks, "ms. j'lynn did you have an opportunity to look at this?" I wasn't sure which way I should play this out and in a split-second I went with honesty and said that no I had not. He didn't say a word, wrote something down and moved on to the next person. I'm 99% sure he wrote down "Nail her ass Wednesday!" So Tuesday @ home is going to be super busy...writing my brief and now reading/catching up for PR!

Before I left work my man called to tell me he was packing up. His security level is being decreased back down to the lowest after that whole episode back in April. This is great!! But it now seems like that means he is leaving where he is and being sent somewhere else, so we will spend the next couple of days waiting and wondering where he will end up. He will know where before I do, but I will know before he calls me...got to love the internet! LOL

My phone rang again around 11pm and it was my man telling me he was told he was headed back down state to where he was the first time I got to visit him after he left county. Of course we have learned a long time ago...until it happens, we don't believe rumors and stories! So instead of being 6 hours away, my man may be only 1 hour away within days. These two calls have left us with conflicting feelings...we loved the psych up where he was and we were both looking forward to him having to do his one last class with her. She was really great and he really liked her and felt comfortable opening up to her! But to be moved much closer is awesome!! It means visits more regularly!!! Of course, that also puts some added pressure on my schedule. I will want to visit more frequently, but my schedule won't allow me to go as much as I would like and that will suck! So like I said...many conflicting emotions about this. Now we just wait and see.

The things we see and do in one day

Today I observed a few things that I wanted to share with all of you:

1. When you need a walker while you get around at work, you can and should use the handicap stall instead of parking your walker outside the stall door. I find it ironic at my office that the people who are truly handicapped (one on a walker, one on a cane) never use the handicap stall, but the fat chicks (yes, I can say that because I'm fat and a chick) use it instead (but I don't do that)!

2. When there are only two people in the bathroom at work and one has a walker parked outside her stall and you don't need any walking assistance devices, who does the cane outside the bathroom door belong too??!!??

3. Is it too much to ask that the areas outside all bathroom doors and stall doors be declared a non-parking zone in my office?!

4. A man with a piece of tape on the back of his head could be covering up a wound or else it could just be a piece of masking tape going across the bottom of his hair line with writing on it. I didn't get close enough to see what it said though...sorry.

5. When you are rushing out of your office over 30 mins late praying that the store in your building will still be open so you can get a water to go to school and skip going to the bathroom, the store will have closed on time and you will have to sneak in to the restaurant on the bottom floor's bathroom.

6. All women who run WW meetings are a bit off their rockers!

7. When you buy a pair of knee-highs at the little store in your work building at noon, the guy behind the counter probably thinks you have gotten in trouble for failing to wear socks at work. What he doesn't know is that you are preparing to weigh in for WWs, which won't happen until next Monday....oh, the humanity!

8. When you find yourself on the wrong floor for your class with only 6 minutes before class starts, the person getting off the elevator will be someone who wants to give you a hug, chit-chat and will say, "Do you have a 6 o'clock class? Oh, it doesn't matter...give me a hug. How are you doing?"

I'm sure there were more, but I cannot remember them...probably because I'm laughing to myself at the craziness I experienced in one day!

Crazy Day Will Give You A Hodge-Podge Post Y'all!

Well, being the naughty girl that I am (Blaez!) I began working on my paper about 9am this morning and finished at 4pm this afternoon. I turned it in @ 6pm! One down.... Thank goodness that is over! Now I just wait for the horrible grade to come in.

Then in Small Firms we were given 4 assignments due next Wednesday...are you f'g killing me?!? I have to draft 2 motions to suppress and re-do 2 of my prior assignments. Ugh. Plus for Litigation I have to draft another complaint! For PR I have to read a chapter and several rules in connection with that chapter. For Pre-Trial tomorrow night we will receive the assignment of drafting discovery requests (Interrogs & R4P of Docs). Guess where I will be all weekend.

In case you didn't know, I have a bit of a TV obsession (see to the right my list of current shows that are programmed into my TIVO to grab every week) and in these few weeks all of the network TV shows are premiering for the fall! Very exciting. I had kind of made a deal with myself that I would only add 2 new shows to replace the few that aren't returning. I had decided to add NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife. Then my man got me hooked on Sons of Anarchy (I'm 2 shows in and totally addicted already!! Jax is so f'g hot!!! LOL) and I just received an email tonight to watch the Pilot for Modern Family, which I watched and it is so funny!!! It has passed my test and will be added too. Damn it for all of the good shows coming on....

My latest "news" obsession has became Haleigh Cummings, the missing girl from Florida so I have to sit up and watch the re-run of Nancy Grace @ 1am to see the latest...

I know you are just dying to know what I had for dinner tonight, right? haha Of course I picked up my Turkey-Bacon Wrap and hauled it with me to class. I decided I would eat between my two classes and I was so looking forward to it since I haven't had it in what feels like a week or two! I ate the first half quickly since I only had 5 minutes to eat and I noticed that something was missing. So I started to eat the 2nd half and discovered totally what was missing...THE BACON!! How the hell do you make a "Turkey-Bacon Wrap" without the 2nd named ingredient? Ugh... I knew this day was going to suck when I put my several bags in the car and realized the top to my water bottle had popped open and was spilling in the side pocket of my work bag and spilled on to my backseat. Thank goodness I noticed it before it got worse...but I should have just came back inside, called in to work and went back to bed! I hate it when I know from the start my whole day is going to suck...

Hopefully you could follow my hodge-podge post tonight. I'm exhausted and my brain is all over the map. Can you tell I'm overloaded, once again?! Have a great Thursday. I should...it is Ecology Day @ work tomorrow! Woo-hoo...I've been waiting for this day forever. I'll tell you all about Ecology Day tomorrow! I have classified it as a Holiday! LOL

PS: I'm doing dinner with my LSBFF tomorrow night & I cannot wait!!! Chips & Salsa will likely be on the menu, but I guess I should check with her, huh? It seems like forever since we've done dinner. Well, we've done it since the post I linked to her, but it feels like it has been since March! Woo-Hoo!!!!!

Church Festivals are more dangerous than fairs...

for this diabetic! YIKES!!

Well, I'm sure the whole day played in to part of it! Friday night out of exhaustion, and probably a few other things, I ordered pizza from this dangerous place. Of course there were left overs so since I was up early and took my first pill that you have to eat w/i 30 mins of taking I had some left over pizza (it was yummy!) then late morning we met up for breakfast and I enjoyed some buttermilk pancakes w/sugar-free syrup and some sausage links with water, of course! Then after soccer pictures, I came home with the plan to meet up with my munchkin and my aunt later at our Church Festival.

Mid-afternoon I indulged in the rest of the left over pizza and a small bowl of my no-added-sugar ice cream since we weren't meeting up until about 7pm. Oh yeah, there was a diet root beer in there too! Then about 7:30pm we had dinner at the festival. That consisted of a hodge-podge of things. It included some pierogis (w/sour cream, of course!), a kielbasa (w/o the sauerkraut) on a bun, a couple bites of the inside of a taco and a diet coke. Well, let me tell you...I can no longer say my numbers haven't been over 200 since July...

Who knew I would be in more trouble going to my church festival than I was going to two different fairs!

**No, we are not Polish and we do not go to a Polish Catholic Church, we actually attend a very Italian and Mexican Catholic Church...but apparently they like Polish food over Italian food!
**Yes, I only go there to eat...we were there from 7pm until 9pm and I ate ALL OF THAT! The munchkin bounced on the bouncy houses and ate a hotdog and most of that taco, along with some onion rings!
**Yes, we do allow my aunt to eat. Since she is a Catholic Nun, she gets first dibs but settled on a kielbasa w/sauerkraut and onion rings. I don't remember now, but I thought she got some fries too, but maybe I'm just imagining things! There was a money mix-up, which caused great laughter and has altered my memories of dinner.
**The great money mix-up was the girl under charged me $5 when I got my dinner and the munchkin's dinner. My aunt thought they over charged me, so when she told the person she knew in the food tent about it the woman gave her $5 to make it right over my aunt's loud protests. When she came back to tell me she had my $5 for me, I couldn't understand why...needless to say after several bouts of laughter and finishing our meals, we took $10 back to the food tent and explained the entire mix-up. It isn't great karma to take $10 from a church festival....

Rude Grandpa & the other characters in baseball

During the munchkin's baseball season there were so many characters I think I could have made a blog entry on each one. There was one particular family that I found really interested...well, actually two.

Family #1...there were two cousins who played together. They were with the bad-ass family. At first it was suspected that there was a real dad vs. a step-dad situation brewing, but then it seemed like "real dad" was actually grandpa. The fathers to the boys were brothers, 10 years apart. One was the typical bad-ass, with a couple of tattoos, smoking, wearing his hat backwards and when he walked he had that typical bad-ass walk. He was actually kind of good-looking in that older-bad-ass way. (Yes, I do have an affinity for bad boys! LOL) His brother was real thin, really tattooed up, earrings, but not the typical earring...more like spikes. He smoked and wore his hat to the side. Spike only showed up once to practice and apparently something happened and he wasn't allowed to return again, which according to TBA happens a lot with his little bro.

TBA never stopped talking. His mom, grandma, would come to the games a lot and you would think that TBA and grandma did not own phones, because they talked and talked and talked for hours at a time about everything. I heard all about their MVAs and their pending suits (wouldn't I fall off my chair if TBA ever walked thru my office!), their worker's comp claims, etc. There did sound like there was some really good gossip about TBA and the mothers of these two boys and some jealousy....I wished at times that I could concentrate solely on their conversation instead of anything else, but I couldn't.

The kicker with family #1 was during Thursday's last game when as soon as the game started TBA looked at real dad a/k/a grandpa and some new woman in the mix and said, "Okay, lets go, but no need to tell the boys." In RD a/k/a grandpa's car and they left. I thought of some instant questions...how do you do that, do you think your children won't notice when they look up in the stands and all 3 of you are gone, and where did they go and what did they do. It is a strange little family and I wished I knew more...

Family #2...There are a lot of players in family #2. There is loud-mouth-mom (LMM), Coach J a/k/a dad (CJ), superstar (#1), superstar (#2) (the big and little bros), lil' sis (lil' sis), chain smoking grandma (grandma) and rude grandpa (RG). The first practice I attended I instantly did not like LMM. She has a comment for everything. I adore CJ...he is just awesome. #1 was an awesome kid and a kick ass player. #2 was a nice quiet kid until he got with some certain kids, but outside of that was a nice little boy and a heck of a baseball player too. Lil' sis is such a tom-boy it is scary! RG and grandma were strange.

RG earned his name the night of one game when they got there late and he proceeded to set up his lawn chair directly in front of another player's mom. And after she picked up her chairs, her husband's chair, and their two sons' chairs and resettled, RG picked up his chair and moved so close to the benches that I was totally blocked in. There was no way for me to get out of the bleachers unless I stepped on his chest as I stepped down.

I believe LMM learned her behavior from RG. I just never saw such a family that were so rude to other parents at a baseball game. Oh yeah, grandma would set up her chair in front of other people and then would never sit in it because she was too busy chain smoking over by the tree. Um...why did you haul a big ass lawn chair there if you aren't going to sit in it?

During the last practice, LMM left lil' sis for CJ to watch while he was out on the field with #2 and #1 was out on the field too helping with the kids. LMM went off to find a nail shop to get a pedicure. I'm all about pampering myself, but I would not leave all 3 of my kids for my husband to watch, especially my 3 year old daughter, while he is the assistant coach to a team of 7, 8 & 9 year old ball players. 4 of which are ADHD and 1 of which was autistic.

Did I tell you that one family had 5 kids all under the age of 7 and dad would come to practice or the game alone?

I never saw such a hodge-podge of a group of people for one thing! But even with all of those characters and a Rude Grandpa, I was happy to be on such a team, because compared to last year...they were awesome! Last year was a group of snobby parents, so I'd rather be with the characters then the snobs! :)

Up 2

I ended my long week with dinner with one of my greatest friends last night. I enjoyed every single minute of it! :) It was so good to see my friend and to be able to sit and talk like old times! Gosh I miss seeing her all the time and certainly wished she lived closer these days! Thanks for a wonderful dinner my friend! ;) Miss ya loads! Love to you!!

Well, I have to report the bad with the good and this week it was bad, but I suspected it would be bad. I gained 2lbs this week. :( But I knew it was going to be bad. Of course I hoped it wouldn't be so bad, but it was. This is a great way to slap one back in to reality! Back on the WW bandwagon this week. Of course being exam week #1 it will be difficult. Good thing I bought a crap load of fruits, veggies and bottles of water tonight while shopping! ;) I'll need all the help I can get y'all!

I was suppose to use today for studying for my BK exam, but I didn't. I just didn't feel good enough to study, so I did errands, wrote a letter to my guy, took a short little nap~~I couldn't sleep well because it was really hot in my house~~, watched some TV and grocery shopped at Sam's Club and Meijers. By the time I got home, which was around 10pm, I think I was running a fever, I was achy and you know when you kind of feel like your head is ringing...I had that feeling too. So I'm off to bed with a shot of Nyquil and no need to set an alarm in the morning. Hopefully I can sleep in in the morning...the only thing that I wouldn't mind waking me up is a call from my guy, but I just have a sneaking suspicion that won't happen until early/mid week next week. :(

As for the hot house...when my thermometer read almost 90 today in my little tin box I opted to start my air. I know...crazy, isn't it?! It is only April, but when you don't feel good and you live in a tin box, which heats up quickly, you don't have much of a choice. Being miserable isn't an option when you don't feel well and are feeling stressed!! As for outside...it was beautiful today! I hope everyone else was able to enjoy the beautiful Saturday!

My Last Night of Classes in Year #3...

Well, well, well...the semester is finally over with one small exception...FINALS!!!! Yikes! But hey...I finished classes, so that is a step in the positive direction. Now I just need to make it through my last day at work tomorrow and then it is crunch time. You spend 15 weeks preparing for this and as soon as they are here you completely become unprepared...wish me luck!

Our class had our end of the semester gathering. It was a lot of fun. Of course I felt like crap, but I still managed to push through for almost 3 hours. I was very happy to get home though. Of course it was the standard "core" group that came, which is the same people who almost always go. Regardless, we had fun! Thanks to my LSBFF for helping me plan tonight! Hope you had fun too!

Well, I haven't heard from my man since Monday right before class....I find this so aggravating and he knows it. We haven't had one of these in quite some time. Of course my mind goes to the first automatic thing for prison...his behind is in the hole. Ugh... Of course the last we spoke he was having issues with his store. He was suppose to get it on Friday and then after some investigation he was suppose to get it Monday and when I spoke to him last he still hadn't gotten his store supplies. Maybe he is pouting, maybe he is upset and deciding to deal with it on his own, maybe he remembers I'm getting ready for exams. Who knows, but hopefully he calls soon. Nothing is worse then when you can't call the person and ask, "How are things?" :(

My last bit of my hog-pog post tonight is I haven't done so well on my week with my WWs, points, or water. :( I'm quite sure I will have gained when I weigh myself Saturday morning. So I'm preparing myself for this realization and just hope the next two weeks won't be too bad, but knowing I will be home studying for exams...doesn't equal strong will-power! Wish me luck...

My goodness...I'm needing a lot of luck from y'all! LOL

Fridays...

Alright...this is going to be another hog-pog of a Friday post! I originally was going to do a post entitled "Fish Tacos, Friday the 13th, and a Shoulder Kiss". Well, I'm going to combine that with today's "Good Friday" post!

Back on March 13, which was another Friday the 13th, I agreed to meet the most recent former co-worker from my office for lunch. Of course, this person isn't the most normal kind of guy. And not all of it is his fault. He does have a mild CHI (closed head injury). I understand this concept and try my hardest to write off some of his antics. Of course, I know he is even more Catholic than I am (which isn't hard, trust me!), so I figure when he asks me to lunch on a Friday during Lent that he will not pick my chips & salsa Mexican restaurant...well, I was wrong and he did. Of course all I could think of was, "Do they have fish tacos?"

Now, I don't know about you, but fish tacos sound like one of the most horrible things ever! I don't even know where the idea comes from. I don't know if they really do exist. I just vaguely recall hearing someone say the phrase "fish tacos" and it has stuck in my head ever since. I consult with Dani and we conclude that they probably have cheese and onion enchiladas, so I should be safe (outside of the craziness that my fellow lunch eater will bring to the table...literally!). I arrive at the restaurant approximately 10 mins late, which I know should be okay because former co-worker is unable to be on time. And me of all people, I'm okay with that. So as I usually try and do, I bring a book from school to read while I wait. When I get to this place I'm actually surprised at how many people are there for lunch on a Friday during Lent. Maybe I will be better than safe with my food options.

Finally former co-worker shows up, at least 20-25 mins late. I then later determine that he is working that day across the street from the restaurant at a health-care insurance company's internal credit union. I find this intriguing since when I hoped on our city's version of a subway system at exactly 12:30pm (the time we were suppose to meet) and receive a text that he is on his way... Hmmmmm...did he get on our city's version of a subway system for old times sake and ride it around one loop?! Oh well...we order and I remind him that it is Friday and Lent and he seems shocked by this turn of events. Equally puzzling, but I move on. We chat, we eat (I don't look at him while we eat, because he isn't the 'best eater'.) and then he announces to our waiter that he needs to place a to-go order. The waiter, who due to my frequent stops in there acknowledges that he knows me, takes the order and leaves. My former co-worker becomes obsessed about this to go order. Hmmm...is this your real meal so you want to make sure it is perfect? When I inquiry who he is picking up the meal for to make idle conversation I'm advised, "No one you would know." Duh..... You think?!

The to-go order comes out and the waiter leaves that along with our bills. As we pay our bills the former co-worker opens up the to-go meal and is upset because he specifically requested a "very large side of shredded cheese" and it is missing. He starts turning frantically in his chair and begins to look for our waiter. So I tell him the waiter is over at a table on the other side of the restaurant, putting together silverware, he is the only male at the table and is with approximately 3 or 4 other wait people. So my lunch companion gets up, walks thru the main dining room and stands behind a pole to attempt to get our waiter's attention. I find this odd...not only did you not walk by the waiter, make any motion to the waiter, you actually kind of walked the long way around him and then stood behind him and with a pole between the two of you. I don't see this getting his cheese....but what do I know. Then he walks towards the kitchen, stops, stares at the table of wait-staff, turns around and stands back behind the pole again. Finally one of the waitresses asks our waiter if the guy standing behind the pole belongs to his table! I'm sitting at our table chuckling to myself because this just seemed like a crazy way to get some more cheese...

Finally, the cheese has been secured, he comes back to the table goes on about how he can now afford to tip and how he is a big spender now. So I ask if that means he is picking up my lunch. If you ever want to see a cheap man sweat ask him if he is buying you lunch. They start sweating, stuttering, etc. Finally I had to tell him I was only kidding and remind him that I had already paid my bill...he was glad I had because he said he was trying to tell me nicely that he wasn't buying me lunch. LMAO!

Upon exiting the restaurant he starts walking and talking to the right and I stop and wait for him to realize I'm not with him. When he does he turns around and I tell him I'm going to the left. He comes at me for a hug...if you knew this person you can close your eyes, picture him in a black peacoat coming at you with arms all up in the air for a hug. It isn't the best site to see coming at you with no place to escape! So he hugs me, tells me how great it is to see me again and before he releases the hug I see that his face is down at my shoulder, like face down and then I hear it...a big smacking kiss sound. You know, the "muah" sound! He kissed my shoulder? Through my winter coat? Regardless...he kissed my shoulder? I told Captain in a separate email...I wasn't sure if I found it hilarious or a bit disturbing...

I'm thinking I need to be intimately involved with someone to kiss their shoulder and even if I'm liking this person from afar and dream of kissing this person's shoulder and figure it is safe to kiss this person's shoulder through a winter coat because they will never feel it and I'm the only one that will know about it...I'm thinking I wouldn't make the kissy noise! I'm still not entirely clear what happened that Friday the 13th between the Fish Tacos that ended with A Shoulder Kiss...

Well, back to today...April 10th! It is Good Friday. I finally made it through my last Friday of Lent without eating meat. I only have 53 mins left right now to make it all the way to the end and I think I can do it! It was a pretty uneventful Good Friday for me. It was opening day for our home baseball team! Who kicked ass today! Go Tigers!!!! I only worked 4 hours today and busted my ass at work today since I was off ill yesterday and really hadn't done much work all week. Monday will be my last catch up day for slacking and being sick this week. I'm okay with that, because unless something crazy happens (which is always a possibility there!) I can complete my catch-up before noon! I'm actually doing pretty good on my homework/reading this week and weekend so far. I have 3 chapters to read for AIL~P and then I need to finalize my case summaries and post those on-line. In Crim Sentencing I need to read the coursepack materials for this week and do a couple hypos. In Crim Pro I have 33 pages to read for this week and I want to work on 2 sets of questions Prof. W. provided weeks ago! I would like to work on tightening my notes up to become outlines for Crim Sentencing and Crim Pro. I have to type Wednesday's notes from Crim Pro too! Then comes BK! UGH...I am approximately 13 weeks behind in that class....I'm planning on devoting the remainder of my time this weekend and this coming week to BK. That is how I caught up on Crim Pro this past week, so we will see how that goes! Of course the munchkin will come home tomorrow night because of it being Easter Sunday and the Easter Bunny needing to visit before Sunday morning. So I'm losing an entire day of studying, but maybe I'll be able to work on my outlines while he is here...who knows. I'm trying to take it as it comes!

Alright...off to read some more AIL~P and go to bed since I have an early day tomorrow. The goal: get up at 6am, leave the house by 7am, do my shopping @ Wal-Marts & Meijers with a pit-stop to the Post Office all before I have to meet someone at 9:30am! Think it can be done? Because then after that the plan is, come home, put groceries away, take a nap, do some homework! Wish me luck!

Hodge-Podge

There are several things I need to follow-up on here so this posting will be a Hodge-Podge of a post. Gosh, I hope I'm not the only person who knows what a Hodge-Podge is! Or maybe I'm not and I just don't know how to spell it, so forgive me if it sounds like I don't know what I'm talking about! Or should I say, forgive me if it sounds like you don't know what I'm talking about! ;)

Comments/Followers....all in one evening!?! Much to my surprise I sign on to my blog and I see something funny. Actually two somethings funny...I HAVE COMMENTS & A FOLLOWER!!!! Woo-hoo!!! Thank you both! I was actually going to post that I finally had the courage to tell 3 very dear people to me about this blog and here 2 of them are!!!!!!!! Thanks gals! I love you both!! Of course the 3rd one can't show up for at least another 22 months and a wake up! But I did get the okay to post his picture showing off his mountain man ways. I'm just not sure if I should or if I can (I'm not really that tech savvy as others!).

Sillyjilly~~you made my day by being my follower and making a comment too! Thank you! I love you for that...as for the 80 degree weather, well I'm incredibly jealous, especially after exiting my car tonight to come to the room and it flashed a big ol' 7 degrees at me. Thanks car...you'll get yours when I trade you in next week! hehe

Dani~~thank you for your comment today. I actually thought of your Amy when I was writing my post. I don't admit how often I think of my Nana or my Papa, but maybe I will start now as it felt really good to think of her. I figured she was on my trip with me yesterday because not only did I think of her because of the Yun-Yuns, but also because I didn't realize the new bra I bought had dragonflies on it. I know...strange to think of your grandmother because her symbol is on your bra, but it is what it is! But don't worry...I won't be posting pictures of that even if I could! ;)

Family Drama Continues...I talked with my aunt tonight and she told me the CPS worker assigned to the case tracked my ex-s-i-l down and asked her why she didn't show up to court Thursday and she said "because it is tomorrow." I don't know if this conversation took place on Thursday or Friday, but if it took place on Friday I have to say an extra prayer for her because she wasn't even smart enough to lie about a day that courts are even open. :( When the tip of information was given to this woman all she said was she wasn't surprised by this story as she suspected the same thing. :( :( She then asked if there was anyone known to the family who could take the boys and when she was told that there is a couple who are friends of my aunts friend in Indiana who may be interested in adopting the boys she said for them to call her.... As we suspected, this isn't going to end pretty. I just hope and pray that it ends the drama in my nephews' lives... Keep praying for them as the Texan isn't doing well at all and is acting out severely.

Two teeth gone in a month? So my aunt called me tonight while I was grabbing dinner after my wonderful visit with my man. :) She told me that my baby lost a second tooth today at school. :( So he has went 6.5 years and lost none and now in the last 30 days he has lost two!! EEK!!! He is such a big boy now! Well, of course my child cannot do anything with out controversy. When you lose a tooth at school they put it in the cutest little holder that is in the shape of a tooth, with a string on it so they can carry it around their neck to bring it home and not lose it (again! LOL). Well, he was at Chica's after he got off the bus until my aunt could pick him up and the story goes that he was told twice to stop playing with the string, which is more of a plastic string than a string, string and he didn't, so Chica's Valentine's Day gift ate it... Chica panicked, called the vet who said to watch for it to come out of KC, but if they see it coming out and it isn't out all the way not to pull it out as it could strangle some of the puppy's organs. And of course, if it doesn't come out they will have to do surgery! So now I need to do an email to Chica to offer to pay for any charges they may incur from this incident. :( She was very angry with my munchkin, who then came home and cried because he hurt Chica and her KC. I feel horrible, but I have some issues with this too.

1. If you have to tell a child twice to stop playing with something and they don't, shouldn't you take it away from them? Isn't that part of what your responsibility as an adult is?
2. And how do we know for sure the puppy ate this string. It is a pretty long string...wouldn't he have chocked on it or gagged on it as he was eating it?
3. And ummm...Dr. Vet, can we do an x-ray to make sure the string is in there before we cut open this puppy?

Of course this isn't the only story she has to share with me of the issues my child has had since I left town less than 48 hours ago... Munchkin fell out of my mom's Mountaineer yesterday, landed on his butt and bruised his butt bone, or so we suspect. He complains when he sits down that his butt cheeks hurt. :( My baby!! :( They aren't showing any signs of bruising and hopefully he didn't bust his tail bone and it will go away, but my son~the drama queen~will carry this one as long as he can. I just feel horrible for him. And to add insult to injury this morning at the bus-stop one of the little kids that just moved in to the abandoned house down from ours (one that doesn't have a single window that had not been broken by the neighborhood hoodlums in the last 2 years the house has been empty) pushed my munchkin down on his injured buttocks! My son comes over to my aunt who got out of the car while she had been watching them crying because his arse hurt... She had to tell him not to cry because then they would call him a cry baby and then she told the other kids that there will be no more pushing. My son, being the narc that I have raised, immediately told the bus driver that the other kid pushed him down on his injured butt as soon as they got on the bus who in turn scolded the kid again. I see my son getting beat up for being the narc... But what can he do, when he does something back to the kids he gets in trouble. My baby can't win for nothing! :( What happened to the good old days before zero-tolerance when you could just push them back.

But hey...he made it 5 days with no calls from the school to me (which is great after my 2 calls from the principal last week!) and he didn't flip any disciplinary cards Thursday and Friday. He just narced a kid out and potentially killed a puppy.... He lives on both ends of the extremes. ;)
Yun-Yuns have returned...Well, the hotel I'm at houses some of the Yun-Yun drivers this weekend and at 1:55am (EST~~now that I've went national with my blog!) 4 of them just returned. They must have the Harley-Davidson version of Yun-Yuns as they are really loud!

A peck will get you a moan next time...So at my visit tonight, my guy tells me I just gave him a peck when I left last night. Which I think is funny because I thought he was short-giving on his end of both kisses yesterday. In the prison world for those readers who are not aware, you get one hug and one kiss when you start your visit and one hug and one kiss when you end your visit, these of course are limited to 5 seconds and with some CO's~yes, they are timed. Well, when I left tonight I refused to let him pull away from my kiss until I got his butt to moan...hehe Yes, I am evil.
