Welcome to My World!!

My favorite quote...We all live in hiding. In one way or another each of us conceal pieces of ourselves from the rest of the world. Some people hide because their lives depend on it. Others because they don't like being seen. And then there are those special cases, the ones who hide because they just want someone to care enough to look for them...Which one are you?

Last night was just crazy. I guess it really started yesterday afternoon. I headed up to see my guy with sunglasses on and no snow in the air. About 30 minutes later...maybe not even that long...I drove into the craziest little snow storm. It was a little unbelievable. But what was more unbelievable was the fact that the car in front of me apparently was taking a stand against driving with their lights on prior to evening hours, because they refused to flip them on. At one point it was snowing so hard that I couldn't even tell if the guy was still in front of me until he actually did hit his brakes. He is lucky I was paying attention!

Of course, as always, there were two cars driving by complete and total jack-holes that thought they could dive in and out amongst the bumper-to-bumper traffic in the midst of this snow storm. I don't get this mentality! If you are behind me and there are tons of cars to my right and in front of me where do you suppose you want me to go when you climb up on my bumper? Do you think I want to be doing 40 on an expressway? It goes against the whole idea of an "express"-way, but I certainly cannot make the cars around me move any faster! And in the future please be warned that if you constantly do that I will be forced to hit my brakes a little sharper than usual and you will fish tail. If you don't believe me, please ask your buddy in the burgundy sports car with the illegally tinted windows...

After our visit I headed back home with a stop by Biggby's for my free super double-dark, sugar-free, reduced-calorie, fat-free hot chocolate with whipped, of course! I love the power of getting that free #13 off from my card. :) hehehe Of course since I have another card that I've been saving up the next one is free too. Yay me!! Then it was off to make my weekly trip to the grocery store. Of course I went to two last night. I guess I didn't feel I had spent enough money at the first one and thought the second one deserved some of my money too... I went to Wal-marts first, because I had a couple speciality items on my list that I knew were cheaper there and I knew that they would have the stuff I needed. As I was leaving there I decided to hit up Meijer in hopes that they would have restocked the fat-free gravy I like, which of course they hadn't. Before I could get out of the parking lot of Wal-marts my car was almost totaled.

Driving along at a snail's pace I was traversing by the rows and some bitch in a little white sedan who failed to realize she needed to clean off the newly accumulated snow from her side windows literally pulled into the side of me. I was over almost halfway through what would be the makeshift intersection there when she pulled out. How I did not hit her or her hit me I will never know. It had to have been either due to my extremely supendious driving ability or the grace of God! I followed that bitch down the lane and hoped and prayed that we would be side to side when we got out to the road to turn our separate ways and I hoped and prayed we would have a red light to wait at, because the closer I got to that light the angrier I got and I had made up my mind I was going to put my window down and tell her, "Bitch, you cut me off again like that again next time I will cut you." (Yes, I was channeling my inner Legally Fabulous! ) Of course we weren't next to one another and of course there was only a green light so she went right with me cussing and swearing while I turned left.

I hit Meijer a few minutes later and was in and out of there in a flash. While loading my two little bags into the backend of my Escape I heard a man's voice. This older gentlemen needed some assistance. After him explaining that I looked like a nice young woman and he had hoped I could help him out and I was the third person he asked before he went into the store and made a complete and total fool of himself he thought he would ask me for help. There may have been "pretty" and "professional looking" tossed in during his little monologue, but I can't remember. I indeed helped the man out (nothing big...just $10 to get 3 gallons of gas) and I did follow him over to the Meijer gas station to make sure he got gas and didn't go in and buy a fifth of booze. He had offered to send me the money on Monday if I gave him a number or an address to get it back to me at, but since I'd rather just be an easy mark for gas money versus a victim in my own home due to some psycho-stranger I just told him to pay it forward. With tears in his eyes and a hand shake to boot, he thanked me.

All in all I figured that my karma scale was tipped in my favor last night when I finally headed home since I didn't actually cut a bitch and I did actually help a stranger out.

The Annual Work Christmas Bash

It is that time again folks! Time for our annual Christmas or Holiday Party at work. The last few years I've been able to get out of it, because it always fell during finals; however, this year was different. Not only did I have no finals happening this year around today, I also had an added incentive to attend...the party is in the restaurant in our building and work paid for us to park in the building. Who am I to turn down free parking that costs $17.50?! So yes, I paid my $10 to attend the party, eat munchies, and get free parking inside!!

I may call this a bash, but folks it is anything but a bash... It is actually pretty boring. Tonight sort of sucked since the place didn't have the ingredients to make my tootsie roll. Who doesn't have kahlua at a bar?!? Seriously people! The food was okay. Nothing great, nothing horrible. The room was choppy. The people were stuffy. You know...the usual affair. I had planned on leaving much earlier than I did. I apparently have a need to be one of the last people to leave. It must be my need for inter-office gossip...

My Mom Always Said My Mouth Would Get Me Into Trouble

Oh my, oh my...what a day!! I went to bed way too late last night and got up way too late this morning. Opps. I was up and out the door in less than an hour and off to pick up the munchkin. We went to the eye doctor, which ended up taking forever. Then I had to rush home, pick up one of his outfits for his pictures, and then rush off to get my allergy shot and then get his pictures done. This is where things started to go downhill...

We arrive in time for our 12:30pm appointment to learn the idiot who I spoke to earlier in the week scheduled us for 12/9...a Thursday. So they had to fit us in. By now I was beyond irritated. Most years we just wing it and wait forever and we are usually much later in the season. This year I attempt to do things by the book and it gets all screwed up. With extra time to kill that we really didn't have in our schedule my munchkin decides to con me into picking up a few things for him. I get him changed into his outfit and then we go back and wait. The couple who was ordering their little girl's pictures were odd. I couldn't put my finger on it. I kept getting weird looks from them and weird interactions with the dad/husband. I thought maybe I knew him, but couldn't recall him or something. Then it happened.

Apparently I'm the worst parental figure in the world and shouldn't be allowed around other people's children, because when the mom told the toddler that they had to get moving because dad was breaking out in hives because he was missing the Michigan/Ohio State game I say, "Just say 'Dad it is no big deal Michigan blows anyways'." Well you would have thought I told her to tell her Dad to F Off! Was it inappropriate? Probably. Was it detrimental? Maybe. Was it cause for the Dad to come out of his chair to threaten me? I don't think so. First of all the kid was too little to even know what I said and secondly if you don't make a big deal out of these things kids don't continue to repeat such things. It is when they get reactions do they carry it to the next level. So I apologized and I felt like crap afterwards. I suspect I've been black-marked at the studio not to be allowed around other people's children... That's okay, because I don't really like other people's kids.

By now it was well past the time that my munchkin needed another dose of his medicine so he was acting as boorishly as what his mom acts like while he was getting his pictures done. We finally get out of there and are off to find some CLR for the munchkin's bathroom and then to check out. From there we go to the dry cleaners, the grocery store and the salon to pick up a couple of things and to drop off my non-perishable foods for their food drive. Hey, at least I'm trying to help the unfortunate after I've damaged them with my mouth.

We had planned to meet up with my aunt and my mom for lunch, which I had not originally wanted to do due to my fear of not keeping my streak alive tomorrow, but after the morning and early afternoon I had experienced I could have used a drink and some high calorie foods. This is when the 2nd shoe dropped. Before we left the salon the munchkin announces he can't find his Nintendo DS. Excuse me?!? We rip the car apart and can't find it. I'm beyond livid at this point. Of course I was still mad at myself for my earlier transgression. I call the studio and they have it. We head back there and pick it up.

Finally we make it to "lunch" around 4pm and I order a jumbo strawberry margarita. Of course my statement of "the stronger the better" to the waiter was taken very seriously! Daym!! I could only drink 3/4ths of it and I was definitely a little more than buzzed. I scarfed down our favorite appetizer, a half of a huge shrimp-fajita-quesadilla, and then consumed Mexican fried ice cream. I probably should have ran a couple more errands after lunch, but I was ready to just come home and crash. I spent the rest of the night freezing, trying to consume as much of my water intake as I could in hopes of not totally blowing my weigh-in for tomorrow and trying to sober up a bit.

Now it is time to bring this not so great day to an end and hope that tomorrow is better and that I don't damage anyone else's children...

It All Went South Quickly

This morning I went to see my specialist and it was all fantastic. She was impressed and very proud of how well I am doing. All of my blood work is going in the right direction and she (& I) are very pleased! I was a little disappointed when she told me I've only lost 10lbs since I was there in October. She was happy, but I was sadden. 10lbs in 4 months. :( That is so not good enough for me, but I'm the one responsible, the person to hold accountable and the only one who can change it. So watch out...because I feel like I need to make up for some lost time here! However, I was very excited when she told me that I don't need to come back for 6 months and I don't even need to send in my numbers either! Needless to say, I was flying very high!!

The other exciting development was the fact that I was out of my 9am appointment before 9:15am, so I went in search of the local Biggby Coffee there and found it. The best part of this is that I discovered that this location is not that far off the beaten path from my weekly trek to and from seeing my guy! :) Watch out Biggby...I've found you and I'm not letting you go! Woo-hoo! With drinks in hand, or better yet the cup holders, I made my way to the office.

I walked into work feeling like I had accomplished so much and was close to Cloud 9 status at 10:20am. I was ready to hit the ground running and kick some booty! Ten minutes later my day went south quickly when I received an email from the munchkin's teacher telling me how he has been misbehaving for a few weeks now. She has been trying to handle it directly with him within the classroom, but that seems to have failed. So from 10:30am on wards I felt defeated. Learning my son has been running around, talking non-stop, and distracting everyone in class, including the teacher, I was not happy.

I don't know about the other moms out there, but I must confess that when I'm told that my son is not behaving I start doubting myself as a parent. Thinking about what I'm doing wrong and what I need to change to get him on a better track. At these moments I feel like I have no answers...no words of wisdom to impart onto myself. I spent the rest of the day trying to recapture my earlier status of flying high, but was never able to recapture it.

Maybe I should be happy for my hour and a half of euphoria and call the day a success, but tonight I'm just not feeling it.

Yes, I can move slower than I did yesterday

Today is moving no faster than yesterday. But I did finish my brief tonight, which is good. I should have immediately jumped on my small firms, but after reading through all 9 parts I seem to have mentally checked out! To get myself back in mentally I decided to make a late night run out to Biggby's to grab my DDHC and of course I was too late and they were closed. Yes, it was only 9:30pm. So I drove all the way down the road for a total opposite treat...ice cream (sugar-free) and of course they were closed too. Ugh...

Deciding or hoping that this wasn't going to be a wasted run out into 38 degree weather I decided to trek back to MickeyD's. I ordered a small hot chocolate, non-fat, and a medium diet coke to balance out the sugar since they, like Starbucks, do not do sugar-free with their hot chocolate/coffee drinks. I came home to discover that my hot chocolate is actually some coffee drink (Yuck!) and my diet coke is real coke....strike 3...I should be out! This screw up was probably because the little order taker was too busy flirting with me and he probably typed in the wrong stuff......like that is gonna help him get my number.

Then I decide to order a sub for dinner from Hungry Howie's and even though everything points to the fact that they are open until midnight, when I called at 11pm I was told they were closed and when I tried to question the lady since their recently delivered ad says they close at midnight and the bitch hung up on me...nice customer service, don't ya think?!? So now I'm waiting for my ol' faithful Tiffany's to deliver dinner so I can eat and dive right back into Small Firms...

Thank goodness this was a 4 day weekend, but the sad thing is...that still won't be enough either! Ugh...

Opps...I didn't mean for that to happen!

Well, apparently I needed to work on #32 (Get some serious sleep!!) on my to-do list more than I needed to be pampered. Let me back up for a minute...last night I was so motivated and felt like I was getting so much done, so I kept going and before I knew it I was replying to one of Blaez's comments @ 2:46am! I went to bed around 3am and had my alarm set for 6am to get up and pick up where I left off. Most importantly I needed to get my oil change done this weekend (#6 on my list) before I took the munchkin in for his 9:30am appointment with the eye doctor (#8 on my list). Well, I'm sure this will shock you...I overslept! I got up about 7:15am, so I rushed a quick shower, pulled the hair back and was thankful that I had everything literally ready to walk out the door with! I dropped off my dry cleaning (#40 add on to my list), picked up my DDHC (the biggest size they had!), sugar-free & fat-free of course, and arrived to the dealer by 8:15am!

After getting my free oil change & free tire rotation (I love Ford's new Owner Advantage Program), I rushed to pick up the munchkin at my mom's and off to the eye doctor we went. His eyes are good, so that doesn't explain his daily complaints of headaches making me go 'hmmmm'! I dropped him back off to my mom and then came home. I had about 3 hours before my pampering appointment, so I ate some lunch and started working on my Litigation homework (#12 on my list). I was so sleepy due to the little bit of sleep I got last night, so I decided to lay down @ 1pm and set my crackberry alarm for 2:20pm to make my 3pm pampering appointment.

I was awakened by my phone ringing...it was my salon and it was now 3:22pm. Opps! So I had to reschedule my appointments to next Saturday. :( Guess I won't be getting pampered for another 7 days and #'s 25 & 26 will remain on my list of crap to do for another week... I guess I needed to sleep because I never heard my alarm at 2:20pm and I was sound asleep when they did call so I was totally out of it...

Started, but still needs to be finished: 13, 15, & 32

The Love Affair Has Came To An End!!

I had to leave a little earlier today than what I normally do because I had a seminar to attend that was about 20 mins north of my office. I got out the door a couple minutes later than I wanted, but I made it with plenty of time to spare.

After reading Daisy, JD (Just Daisy)'s The Starbucks Red Cup post yesterday, I dreamt of stopping at Starbucks all night. I exit the expressway and off to Starbucks I go. I wait for several minutes in line and when it is finally my turn I order a sugar-free, fat-free hot chocolate only to be told that they cannot make it sugar-free. WHAT???? I tell the barista how all of their competitors are able to accommodate a sugar-free hot chocolate request and I'm quickly told how there really isn't a high demand for it. Really?!?

Well my dear Starbucks, the one time insatiable love affair has came to an end... You have been replaced by Biggby's and their sugar-free, fat-free Double Dark Hot Chocolate. It was fun while it lasted...

The Truth Can Force One Into A Good Decision Sometimes

Let me recap my day thus far for you all... Mom was suppose to call to make sure I was up at 5:30am. Finally, at 6:15am I realized no call was coming so I needed to drag my own ass out of bed! I hop in the shower, get ready, realizing yet again I will be late, but this time I'm okay with being late, because there really is no need to leave an hour and a half before your scheduled court time when you are only 15 mins (max) from the courthouse. I make a call to Mom to make sure she didn't oversleep and after a quick confirmation that she just simply forgot about me (this isn't the first time in my life Mom has done this; however, this time was not nearly as traumatic as the first time!) I hang up and realize that my mom is beyond her breaking point already before 6:45am.

Aunt arrives, I finish getting ready and am out the door by 7:25am. I have yet to figure out why I used to be able to get up, get ready and get out the door in less than an hour and these days it just doesn't happen. Am I just old and moving slower?! I pulled up to Mom's, get out in the pouring rain, run in and she starts apologizing that she didn't hear me pull-up. I'm not sure how she expected to hear me pull up when the wind is blowing like crazy and the rain is coming down in sheets! She tries to usher me out the door, because we are running late. I demand one swallow of water to take my AM half of a pill and then we are out the door. I literally look at my Dad and say, "Hi. Bye."

We arrive to Biggby's after I've made apologies for running late and the fact that I want to go to Biggby's because I know I can get my DDHC and it is sugar and fat free versus my mom's normal McDonald's run for her coffee where nothing comes out as sugar or fat free. All is forgiven, I run in get her coffee and my DDHC, along with a plain bagel and cream cheese to insure my blood sugar doesn't drop too low during court proceedings. Why is it at a coffee house when you tell the barista that you just want a coffee with cream they look at you like you are retarded? I'm sorry, I don't drink the nasty stuff and I know my mom's version of coffee is whatever is on sale, Maxwell House v. Folgers. Back in the car and off to the courthouse we go.

We sit in the car while cigarettes are finished and then brave the nasty-ass weather to go in after we see the foster parents enter. We go upstairs and wait as the crowd starts to gather. There is an impressive lot of us there once everyone arrives. The sad thing is, this isn't my first go around with this same type of situation, and I'm always amazed at how many professionals are available after things go badly, but never before. Roll call: 2 prosecuting students & their professor; current CPS worker; former CPS worker just "observing"; foster parents; two doctors~the treating psychologist who could have been mistaken for a criminal (long hair, sloppy dress, creepy-dude look) & the ER doc that treated the boys they were removed from their mom's home who needs to seriously be checked for Type II diabetes; a very serious narcotics Detective (I was afraid his face may crack if he even thought about smiling); the boys' attorney who relieved some of my fears of passing the bar; the foster care worker from FIA; the current CASA woman appointed by the judge to monitor the case and to interact with the boys and mom throughout the last year; the former CASA woman; the Parenting Coach assigned to give mom classes on how to be a better mom; Paternal Grandma (my mom); me; ex-sil; Defense Counsel; and new friend of ex-sil's who called herself 'like a sister' of ex-sil. I'm still confused by the fact that with all of the "assigned personnel" that this situation could go so badly since 6 of these professionals were involved after the first incident Fall of 2008 through the second incident on February 6th, 2009 to present. Who missed what? Is my ex-sil that smart? She barely passed her GED classes...and she has never been nominated for a Golden Globe, but somehow she fooled them all.

The Judge takes the bench...preliminary motions are made...orders entered...scheduling conflicts advised of...Prosecutor's Opening Statement is made. In less than 3 minutes, the Opening Statement is over, Defense Counsel has reserved his right to give an opening statement and a recess is taken so Defense Counsel can appear in another courtroom at 9am. I exit the courtroom and call mom who was ushered in to the hallway due to her status as a witness but is no where to be found. As I stand in the hall waiting for her to answer her cell phone the ex-sil walks by me. She gives me a dirty look like I have betrayed her. Seriously? Seriously?! I make a flippant sound of "Hmph." (It sounds better than I'm expressing here...think 'Hmm...I got voice mail...interesting.") I meet mom downstairs and we take cover under a neighboring building while I give her the lowdown of the exhibits entered thus far and why we are in a recess already, plus the fact that the Judge has to take a recess from 11:15am-2pm!

We watch ex-sil exit the courthouse with her pseudo-sister and stand in the rain to smoke their cigarettes. We then enter the courthouse and head back upstairs. What Defense Counsel thought may only take 5 mins, but the judge said would take 30 mins really only took 15 so he begins frantically looking for his client. Apparently there was some fear that she was so upset that she may just leave...yeah, that would have been very fun and would have made for a great paper for my Small Firms class (yes, another class 4 years in where I have to go and observe court and yes, yet again I will use family court appearances as my subject matter!). I tell him that his client is outside smoking. He looks shocked that me, the evil mystery woman, would give him such information. (He would be even more shocked if he recalled that he cross-examined me years ago for an unrelated matter and tried to call me a liar on the stand and I responded with something like, Mr. Defense Attorney maybe you know more than my Judge, but I'm going by what he told me at the last court hearing, which was that unless I have a signed copy of the final order in my hand not to consider myself legally divorced and if I was to get remarried I would be committing bigamy which he would be sure to have me prosecuted for, so I'm sorry in answer to your question I am your client's legal wife. I know you don't like the answer, but I'm just telling you the truth.")**Yes, I am very mouthy when I enter a courthouse!! LOL

I enter the courtroom and wait and wait and wait. Someone finally comes in and tells someone in a loud whisper, sorry...we all hear what you are saying when we are in such a small room, that the respondent is considering signing off her rights. Finally a decision is made and for the fist time in a long time, my ex-sil makes the smartest decision and chooses to stop the trial and sign off her rights to her two boys. We spend the next hour watching people scramble to get paperwork together and get this back in front of the Judge to enter this matter on the record and get an order entered before the Judge leaves for his 11:15am recess.

By noon mom and I are sitting at Red Lobster, drinking our Sunset Passion Pina Coladas and eating our Lobster Fondue after she called the necessary people to tell them it was over and then recaps how she told the CPS worker that she thinks the fact that I was there and when ex-sil walked past me combined with the fact that mom was sequestered as a witness made her realize that her battleship had been sunk and that is why she finally made the choice she made. I, of course, then nicknamed myself "The Enforcer". Who knew I had so much power?! Well, okay...I always have, but it is nice that others are finally realizing it too!

Everything is over and done with... We wait 21 days to ensure no appeals are filed, which there won't be, and then the adoption procedures will begin for the foster family to finally make my nephews a legal part of their family. Only one time did my mom break down today, but I think later tonight will be a different story. She was fully vested in this matter and had made it one of her top priorities for what happened today, to happen one way or another.

I walked in the house at 1:30pm today with the intent to immediately start on my list, but by 2pm the emotional strain of the day was pounding in my head, so I opted to lay down a bit. My man called at 3pm to see how things went today and for the last 2 hours I've been trying to catch up on a few things, waiting for the munchkin to get home so I can give him a huge hug and kiss and go and grab dinner before he leaves with my aunt for the weekend.

Happy Sweetest Day!

I actually sort of forgot that today was Sweetest Day! And apparently my guy and I aren't celebrating since I didn't get a call today! LOL Usually I'm pretty good at remembering such insignificant things and getting cards out, but that didn't happen this year...opps!

So instead, I spent my Sweetest Day my attempting to get up early to get moving early and failed at that. I set the alarm for 6am, but didn't get up until 7:30am. Quick shower, threw my stuff together and out the door I went. My plan was to get #5 on my list done first, but instead I ran and picked up my DDHC and made my way to my hair salon to get my hair "did". Two and a half hours later I rushed to one of the outreach labs to get my tests done. Then I swung thru TB and picked up a couple of tacos and came home. After eating I still had a headache and since I didn't sleep worth crap last night I laid down for a little nap around 3pm. I had the alarm set for 4pm, but that didn't work out! I woke up when my mom called at 7:30pm! Is sleeping 4.5 hours really a nap?! LOL

I chatted with my mom for about 90 mins. She is super stressed since the trial for my nephews is less than a week away. Then at 9pm I couldn't seem to get motivated to do my homework or anything else. I was watching 'Bama win their homecoming game and decided I needed to do something productive for the day, so I got my reusable shopping bags and my cans and bottles together and off I went to grocery shop @ 10pm! It is actually nice to shop this late. Less people, better parking...what more could you ask for?

The list remains uneven.

Hope you had a wonderful Sweetest Day!

Fail.

Yesterday morning when I got up I entered a goal in to my info line on BBM (BlackBerry Messenger). I wanted to complete 3 of my 4 class homework assignments since I didn't have any commitments on my calendar. I was actually pretty excited about this goal. My man had called and woke me up about 10mins past nine, so when I set the goal it was only 9:30am, so I told myself..."This is so doable!"

I did a little homework, hoped in the shower, went and picked my DDHC to make sure I had something in my stomach, ran to the bank and picked up some taco bell since it was close to noon by now. Came home, ate and got back to my Litigation homework. I continued to work on homework until late afternoon when I made another run in to town to the meat market for some lunch meat, picked up my favorite diet rootbeer and a small order of mini-tacos and came back home. Back to homework I went. I hit a brick wall around 6pm, had a massive headache and felt tired, so I laid down for a little nap. At 7:02pm my man called and woke me up again. 15 mins later we hung up....er, were cut off...and I came back out to the living room and went back at my homework. At 9pm, I decided to run and grab some dinner and settled on Chinese since I was being so diligent with my homework. I came home, ate while reading some homework. Finally, at 4:00am I called it quits on the homework and crawled in to bed about 45 mins later. I had only worked on 2 classes' homework and hadn't even completed that! Ugh...

For my Litigation class and my Small Firms class we have to submit "time sheets" reflecting the time we've spent on homework. I am submitting 7 hours for Litigation from yesterday (I know I spent more but I didn't accurately track when I was reading the 53 pages of handouts the DD Profs emailed us this week). I only completed 2 out of 3 of my assignments for Small Firms and clocked a total of 6.1 hours (billed in 6 minute increments) for that class too. Do you know how depressing it is to realize that in the 17 hours I was awake yesterday I "billed" 13.1 hours of homework and didn't even complete 2 classes' of homework?! Ugh....

This morning, my man called at 8:40am and woke me up and I really wanted to roll over and go back to sleep when our 15 mins was up, but I have forced my ass out of bed after less than 4 hours of sleep, still high on NyQuil so I can do another crazy day of homework. I definitely see another DDHC in my future this morning and likely a little nappy-pooh sometime this afternoon.

In case you were wondering what I did during those 3 hours and 54 minutes I wasn't doing homework yesterday, I was making 3 trips in town and checking the following items from my to-do list: 1, 2, 3, 4, & 10.

Now I'm off to take a quick shower so I can go get my DDHC!! Let's hope I don't spend another 13.1 hours on homework unless that is getting it all done!

What was she thinking?

My mother called me this morning at 9:40am today and woke me up with, "What did you want?" Hmmm...what I wanted was for you to answer your damn phone yesterday when I called you at 4:30pm or again at 9:00pm, not for you to call me on one of my only two mornings to sleep in when I didn't go to bed until after 3am! What I wanted was for you to sound a little more pleasant when you call me! What I want, is for you to get on meds for your undiagnosed bi-polar disorder!! Ugh....mothers... What I really wanted was to tell you that you need to call and invite auntie's house-mates to her b-day party today and ask you if you will trim my bangs since my hairstylist was already gone when I called him yesterday at 2pm. Most importantly, what I want is to be able to sleep in on my days off!

One good thing came of this rude-ass phone call, I got my ass out of bed, straight in to the shower, immediately dressed, started the BBQ pork for this afternoon and in to the car for my new signature drink...Double Dark Hot Chocolate, sugar & fat free of course!!! Yummy. Breakfast of champions I say!

Alright, off to read for Small Firms (I'm picking up where the drool left off!) so I can maybe put that class behind me before the party. Yes, my thoughts are delusional due to the fact that someone woke me up 6 hours after I went to sleep and I'm in a sugar-free, fat-free maze of chocolaty heaven...

Mountain Man?????

I made my trip and almost succeeded with my time goals. I actually didn't get on the road until 8am. I made a stop to Starbucks about 45 mins in as I didn't take time to eat or drink anything before I left. Then I stopped for gas twice and hit the hotel at 5:30pm. This gave me enough time to slap some makeup on and sprint over for a 2.5 hour visit with my guy! :D

I was so happy to get to see him, but OMG...he told me he wasn't going to shave and I in turn told him I wasn't going to shave either. That was the first laugh and smile I got from D after we had a situation a couple weeks ago. So I expected him to be scruffy, but when he walked in and he had a full beard I was shocked!! :o I didn't know what to say. My man had became a mountain man in the (bitterly) cold local weather this winter!!!! The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. :) It was just so different and did it make him look older.

My man always has looked younger than he is. He is going to be 40 this year and this is the first time that he has actually looked close to his age. I'll have to tell him tomorrow that once I got over my shock, it grew on me and it is more than a little sexy! :)

After our visit I went to the casino to cash in my "hotel certificates". I got more stuff than I thought I would and I spent more than I anticipated! EEK!! I guess that is how they suck you in. LOL I received a free drink (my signature drink...a tootsie roll), to double winnings on 2 hands of black jack and $5! I cashed in $40 and lost it all. I was up a bit a couple times but I ended up putting it all back in. The biggest problem with $5/hand blackjack...if you lose, it goes fast! I figured about an hour of fun for $40 isn't bad and with taking $5 out with me, I really only lost $35 and since I got my drink free, which normally would cost at a minimum $5...I really only lost $30. Yes, that is rationalizing at work my friends!

Alright, I'm off to bed so I can get up, get ready and go to my favorite breakfast spot in this little prison town! ;)

Hugs y'all!!!!
