Welcome to My World!!

My favorite quote...We all live in hiding. In one way or another each of us conceal pieces of ourselves from the rest of the world. Some people hide because their lives depend on it. Others because they don't like being seen. And then there are those special cases, the ones who hide because they just want someone to care enough to look for them...Which one are you?

Not Much Has Changed

Just because I've been sworn in not much has changed in my life. For instance, I had 3 things I wanted to accomplish this weekend and as it comes to a close I must report that I did not get any of it done.

It was quite a whirl-wind of a weekend. After Friday night ended and Saturday came about my weekend became all about the munchkin. First we went to karate and then originally we had soccer practice scheduled; however, the coach had to cancel due to a family illness. Instead we ran errands the majority of the afternoon. This included the grocery store, the pharmacy, the dry cleaners, the bank, the gas station, and even the doctor's office for my allergy shot. Then today it was a trip to the roller rink so the munchkin could burn off some energy!

Now it is time for bed as the munchkin's spring break ends and he returns to school tomorrow and I return to work as a sworn in attorney still working as a paralegal!

I'm hopeful that this week is a very productive week...

March Brings Sunshine...So Close Yet So Far Away

Today we were treated to lots of sunshine and weather in the 40's! It was lovely. Of course in this area we all know too well that winter isn't over and I do fear that today was just another tease. But I'll take it regardless.

After working today I joined my aunt and uncle for a free dinner at their neighborhood French Italian Bistro. Of course it entailed sitting through a two-hour presentation on Fire Safety. Boring you say? Actually it was quite nice and very informative. More importantly it was free!! And better yet, it was what I order every time I go there...Chicken Parmigiana! Yum Yum Yum

Of course we didn't get out of there until after 8:30pm, which meant no workout for me! I don't know if I will get one in this week as I have a very busy week ahead of me. This, of course, is my own fault. Last week was Spring Break and I had this master plan of all of the things I would get accomplished during my time off from class. And that plan, I failed!

I scheduled tomorrow off from work so I can write my appellate brief for SADO, which is due by 5pm Wednesday. Since this will likely take the entire day and then some, I will be skipping E&T tomorrow night as well. And since Prof Arrogance refused to give us Thursday's assignment until last night, I now have that to do too. If not for that I would have my Trial Practice homework done. Ugh! I'm 12 pages away from completing my E&T homework too. So close, yet so far away from being on top of this...

Consider it done: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22
Just getting started: 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 19, 20
Needs attention: 14, 15

Spring Break Has Finally Arrived~~WooHoo!!

Yesterday I over-slept, which was just the start of my crazy day. While I was at work I remembered that I had told myself to get cash, but I couldn't remember why. So instead of paying $3.50 to withdraw money at our building's ATM I opted to save my $3.50 and leave for school. While gathering my books for school I realized I forgot all of my E&T books at home. Too late now, so I went on to TP and after we were released an hour early I realized why I thought I needed cash...to make copies @ the library! Dang-it to heck!!

I had enough on my card to copy some pages I needed for SADO, but I was $0.20 short to finish. Therefore, I couldn't even start on the copies I wanted for E&T, so I did something that I'm totally ashamed of...I took, er borrowed, the last two pages I needed for SADO. I am totally ashamed of myself and have the intention of taking them back (hopefully today if I get to leave work a little early). But I refused to take the chance of losing those two pages! Heck, there were already several pages I needed that were already missing. Needless to say...I picked up some cash tonight so I can get my E&T copies done and return the page I "borrowed."

Don't worry...I made my way through E&T without my books and I have now entered Spring Break and not a minute too soon.

My Friday To-Do List:

Why are Mondays so rough?

Is it in the DNA of Mondays that make them so rough? Ugh... Not only was today rough because it was a Monday, but it was the Monday following spring break. I think it should be against the rules to have to actually participate in anything 100% on a day like today.

But I am happy to report that I actually accomplished several things at work today. I made 2 of my 3 classes and the only reason I didn't make my last class, Crim Pro, is because I was stuck in the restroom until 20 mins in to class. By then it was too late to go in to class. So I missed class, headed to Red Robin and then on home.

Even with the ick part of today being the Monday back after Spring Break I am proud of all I accomplished. ;) For my food journaling for today, it is as follows:

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 1 slice of toast
Snack: 94% fat free popcorn
Lunch: A large grilled chicken greek salad with Italian dressing and pita bread
Dinner: a cheeseburger, onion rings, 2 cokes and a hot fudge sundae.

I did get 64 ozs of water in today. So there is some good in today. Now I'm off to bed to read for AIL-P and fall asleep for another day this week... Good night y'all.

Another Saturday Comes & Goes...

and I accomplished nothing. Well, not really but nothing I should have. I woke up pretty late today and jumped on my email because I knew I had several to respond to. 24 actually. So I responded to all of those and began reliving my week as I responded to my emails. What a week it was too...

Monday I made my way home after seeing my honey as you well know and I was so exhausted. I was in the bed by 9pm and then Tuesday I was back to a semi-reality with work. But no classes since it was Spring Break, which is now over. Then Tuesday night I had to go to the local charter school for an informational meeting to see if it would be a good fit for the munchkin. I'm so confused because I don't believe in charter schools. But my baby is having trouble with the other kids. So I filled out the application and submitted it and now we wait...we wait for a lottery to take place on March 9th to see if he is one of the lucky ones to be picked. And even if he isn't then we wait to see if he will move up on the wait list as others opt to not take the spot they were given. Nothing is more stressful than dealing with your child and what is best for them and whether they will get it! So please keep your fingers crossed that what is suppose to happen and what will be the best for my munchkin happens! :)

Wednesday after work I had to go to the DMV to get my driver's license replaced. The last day I went to see my honey I put it in my pocket and apparently didn't put it in there the right way because when I squatted down to dig our snacks out of the vending machine I cracked it. Normally I wouldn't have paid the $9 to replace it until I have to get a new license in 2010, except visiting my man wouldn't happen, because they won't accept a damaged license at MDOC. Of course the fact that I have to wait 10 business days to receive it irritated me and I told the woman behind the desk that they were wasting my taxpayer dollars by not printing licenses right there. She said their rationale is because if you have fraudulent papers they don't walk out with a picture id. No...they wait 10 days for it! But they still get a picture id...duh!

Thursday, as you know, was the day that the family drama heated up with my ex-s-i-l. I'm still kind of in shock about the whole thing. According to the detective that contacted my mom, he is building a case against her too. She thinks her life has been rough so far...let her do a little time in prison and she will reevaluate her life quickly!! Again, the only people who are hurt in this whole mess (outside of the gentlemen who was shot, of course) are my two nephews. According to the local paper, the boyfriend is only 17 and so was the victim. Just children themselves. She is going to be 24!! Maybe she was the leader of the pack.... SCARY!!

Later that night I met up with my car guy. I picked out my next car so I'm excited about that. I'm looking at a 2009 Ford Escape Limited 4x4, black pearl, leather charcoal interior, moon roof. I'm so excited about that, but not excited about the amount of money I have to put down to pay off my lease and get my payment to an amount that I can afford. I'm hoping my car insurance won't jump too! EEK!! We are in a recession and I'm trying to look at ways to cut expenses and I'm having to buy a new car. I guess I'm supporting the Big-3, so that is a good thing and since my aunt and uncle bought 2 new cars (a Dodge & a Jeep) I guess my family is contributing to keep the Big-3 going! ;) Way to go family!!! Now it is time to buckle down and go green! I have about 1500 miles left on my lease so I'm going to eat up more miles this month and get the car by the end of the month since my $5,000 rebates expire at the end of the month! LOL I'll post pictures once I get it. :)

Friday I said good-bye to a friend. One of my co-workers got a new job so we said good-bye to him Friday with cake (which is a staple in my office!) and drinks after work. After 4 drinks in 4 hours I left that bar and met up with my "other" aunt and my mom and had one drink there. Then we went to Big Boys to have fish since it was Friday during lent and I followed them home to make sure they made it home okay. Of course I didn't go to bed until 3am last night so I could digest my fish.

Now I'm off to write my honey as I haven't wrote him but once in the last 2 months I think! I'm sure he will be surprised!! :D I hope you all had a fabulous Saturday and was able to relax a bit too.... Enjoy your Sunday too!
