There Is Always A First Time

And today was the first time I've had my car cleaned on the inside since I bought her in 2009. Yes, she is over 2 years old and no one has been attentive enough to her to take a vacuum to her carpeting or anything. So today was the day.

After the munchkin accompanied me to the spa to get my facial and my unibrow/hairy lip & chin waxed off we went over to the car wash and for $10 they cleaned the inside and out! I ended up adding a couple of extra things to my car's own little spa day, so in total it cost me $16, but it was well worth it. I suspect that if I make a couple trips through there again over the next several weeks she may look as good as the day she came home to us.

So I guess there is always a first time for everything...even if it takes me a couple of years to get to it!

Reality Is Knocking On My Door

Last Monday we had another major snow storm. Of course that was the day I was set to head to the hotel to settle in to take the bar. So after chipping an inch of ice from my car and brushing off around 10 inches of snow I made the two hour drive to check-in. I then spent Tuesday & Wednesday being tortured by the State Bar Examiners. I had booked my hotel room for an extra night, so I headed home Thursday morning.

After checking out, I hit up a MickeyD's for a cheeseburger. When I took a bite I realized that I was so achy from stress that my whole face hurt just from biting and chewing a damn cheeseburger. Who could have imagined such a thing... It was crazy!

Two hours later I finally arrived home and just sat until the munchkin got home so we could go to karate and then dinner afterwards. Of course it snowed some more again Thursday night and I had a doctor's appointment scheduled Friday early afternoon, which required me getting up early. So another almost 4 inches freshly coated our frozen tundra Friday morning just to make the drive extra fun.

I went to my new OB/GYN, who I adore, to be told I'm going to definitely need to have surgery. So this will probably be set up for sometime in April. I feel comfortable with him and feel okay with finally having my ever growing cyst removed. Apparently I'm carrying a grapefruit (or a large orange, if you prefer) around. Nice, huh?! Afterwards I went and spent time with my guy, but not before I found a Wendy's to stop by so I could do my makeup in their bathroom. Yes, this is where my life currently is post-bar.

Today was my pampering day. I got my hair "did", had a massage, and my monthly facial and waxing. Since I've been home tonight all I've done is watch TV and chill, but it has all been done guilt-free. This is the best. But since I return to work Monday I definitely need to be motivated tomorrow to get some things done, because reality is knocking on my door...

Bright Eyed & Bushy Tail

Okay...this doesn't really describe me, but I am still amazed at myself and it is barely 9am!

Between yesterday where I got tons of stuff done (Just look below!!) and this morning when I actually woke up at 5:40am without an alarm and continued to accomplish stuff today I feel like I can claim to be bright eyed & bushy tail...or is it tailed?! I'm not sure which it is, but it feels like it is an old saying from my childhood, so I'm going with it!

I studied more yesterday than I have in a single day in a while. Yes, even I was shocked too! Then I hit the gym, increasing my time on the treadmill to 30 minutes, and then on to my treat! Yes...week #3 in my journey deserved a treat. Plus my salon had BOGO 50% off and I have bonus bucks that had to be used for the month of January! Work with me here people. I had my schedule all set...stop studying at 11:45am, make my way to the gym, workout for 30 minutes, hit the bank (ATM) and the post office, and arrive for my 1pm mani & pedi. Figured I'd be home by 2:30pm-ish.

Ready, set, go....and I was off! Everything seemed to be falling into place until I realized I hit the treadmill at 12:10pm instead of 12:00 and somehow I didn't get done with the gym until 12:50pm. Please don't ask where the other 20 minutes went, because I have no clue! Then I attempted to hit the bank, quickly, only to find 7 other cars in line for the ATM, so I drove by and headed straight to my appointment. I was back on schedule walking in right at 1pm. This is where it really went downhill. Finally at 1:40pm I was taken back for my pampering and since I had waited so long I was treated to a couple extras, which were nice, but not a part of my tight schedule, which now included the bank & post office post pampering...

Around 4:30pm I finally made my way back home. Shockingly another planning that didn't go the way it was suppose to... Of course this lead me to not finish #3 on my list, which should be taken care of today (I just need a couple more things...) and you may wonder what the hold up is for #17...well, that one I'm laying on my LSBFF who is apparently MIA from her email this week, but I will wait on both of them and maybe by tomorrow I will be able to add another "Nothing!!" to my To-Do List Tally!

Lotions & Potions

Yes folks I know that in the new year my posts have been...well, should we say blah! Basically they have revolved around 3 things in my life...my weight (i.e. what I'm eating/calorie content), working out (yes, I'm still on a roll here), and studying for the Bar (or my lack thereof). I probably should apologize for that, but in all essence that is what I have going on over here...trying to eat healthier, working out and sticking to it, and attempting to study for the Bar. That's basically it. It is a pretty ho-hum time in j'lynn's world!

But let us not forget that it is winter time while I'm trying to eat healthier, workout and study. What comes with the winter months, especially in my freezing neck of the woods? Snow, ice, wind, cold temps and some dry ass skin!

I'm not a girly-girl, but I'm also not an anti-girly-girl. I'm just average. I like getting pampered just like everyone else. I love a good massage, a pretty mani, a delicious pedi, and even though I get monthly facials to help with my crazy skin I love the relaxing part of it most. I buy lotions like every other chick out there. Right now on the table next to where I live in my living room there are currently 5 different lotions. A coconut body lotion, a bottle of Curel Ultra Healing Intensive lotion, a renewal lotion (which is a part of my morning and night face routine), a bottle of Pheromone Luxurious Body Moisture, and a bottle of Aveda hand relief lotion. And if you thought this was bad you should see all of the lotions and potions I have in my bathroom!!

One would think with this load of lotions that I'd have the softest, most hydrated skin of all the land, but that so is not the case. You ask, "why?" Well because even with all the lotions around me I always forget to use them! I always put them off and forget to apply lotion. I will remember at some point, but it will be at inopportune moments...like while I'm driving or on the treadmill at the gym. I'll be in the middle of a conversation and think, 'Oh, my hands are so dry I should really put some lotion on.' I'll get into bed and my dry heel will catch on my new silky sheets and I'll think, 'Damn! I need to put some lotion on my feet tomorrow.' Tomorrow comes, later comes, and that fleeting thought is gone from my addled brain leaving my skin to get dryer and dryer.

Some of my lotions have sat on my table or in my bathroom for far too long and I probably should clean them away and toss them out, but then I think of how much money I've spent on them or the fact that the bottle they are in is just too cute and looks nice where it is. So my lotion lives on while I continue through life with my dry hands, elbows and feet.

One nice thing of being off to study all this time...I'm remembering more often to lotion up. So finally...I'm using some of my lotions and potions. Getting my skin more hydrated and less icky and dry. Or else it is just another way I procrastinate from studying... Either way by the time I take the Bar I figure my skin will be picture perfect. Just in time to start drying out again come February 28th when I return back to my normal life.

Losing Time While On A Roller Coaster

The last several days I definitely have been on a roller coaster in my life and have been experiencing some crazy things. Let me reflect for a few moments here...

Thursday night I went to Sam's Club and did some shopping. A lot of times in the morning I don't have time to eat anything and end up running through the drive through at Burger King or McDonald's and ordering a small diet coke and two sausage patties. I love me some sausage! So while I was at Sam's Club I saw this big box of Turkey Sausage Patties, individually wrapped. I was so excited, because this would be so much more cost effective and healthy for me! My aunt helped me haul our groceries in and we went about the rest of our business that night. The munchkin went to bed, my aunt went home and while I was getting a few things done before I went to bed I heard a cough come out of the munchkin's bedroom. I instantly thought to myself, "Oh...that's not good."

It was only one cough and the munchkin remained asleep so I finished what I was doing and made my way to bed. It was around 2am. At 3:30am the munchkin climbed into my bed and asked me to rub his back. He felt warm to me, but my son loves to wrap up in multiple blankets while he is sleeping and it isn't out of character for him to feel like he was in an oven when he comes out of a bed. We both feel back asleep. My cell phone alarm went off, I stood up and looked at my cell which read 5:40am Friday morning...the next thing I remember was walking into my bathroom, looking at my alarm clock which read 7:12am. Um, hello?!? I just lost an hour and a half. WTF?!? I must have went back to bed and have no memory of it. Great! The munchkin woke up too and was complaining how he didn't feel good. I checked his temperature and it was 101.6. Talk about changing the momentum of my weekend!

Since I took both Monday and Tuesday off from my life this week I really couldn't afford taking the day off again. I called my aunt to see if she could help and she came right out. Once she arrived and we had put a plan of action into place I told her that the night before when I crawled into bed I thought about my Turkey Sausage Patties and the fact that I didn't see them when I was hauling my groceries in and assumed she had brought them in on one of her trips and put them in the freezer. She, of course, had no idea what I was talking about and indicated she didn't haul them in either. I began to wonder what else I was going to lose since it appeared that so far that morning I had lost 1.5 hours and now an entire box of Turkey Sausage Patties!?! Since we put everything in the pantry on the washer so I could rearrange my shelves to fit everything in over the weekend. She then uncovered the box of Turkey Sausage Patties that she carried in the night before. In the garbage they went... She felt horrible and apologized several times because she didn't put it in the freezer. I told her that I was equally to blame since I should have double checked since I was the one that knew I had bought things that needed to be put in the freezer. I'm totally bummed though...

Due to the munchkin being home sick I called and canceled my new cleaning lady, which worked out well because her father-in-law was in the hospital just being diagnosed with Leukemia. My aunt took the munchkin to the doctor and he was diagnosed with strep throat. Fun, fun, fun... The munchkin was feeling a little better later in the day, so I opted to still go and see my guy after work, but before I could get there I had to swing by the Defender's Office, drop off my time sheet for the week before and pick up the day sheet for Monday. Then I was off to see my guy.

After a great visit, I was totally exhausted, but opted to still do the rest of my weekly grocery shopping. When I finally got home around 11pm last night I made sure I put away all of my perishable foods away, but left everything else out to be taken care of in the morning. I knew I had tons of errands to run Saturday morning so I set my alarm for 6:20am so I could get things done. I had a plan of attack and was going to be totally ready to hit the ground running. Well things didn't work out that way since I didn't get out of the bed until 7:50am. Lost another 1.5 hours this morning. This has became crazy and totally unacceptable!! Time to grow up j'lynn and get your shit together! Come on already! Ugh.... I quickly got myself ready, took off to get my oil changed and tires rotated, then off to the salon to get my highlights done and a hair cut. I was hoping to get my allergy shot in between these two errands, but thanks to my inability to get my ass out of bed this had to be moved to later in my morning.

While at the salon one of the new assistants started talking about how she and her 2 kids were looking for a place to live. They had just moved from up-north and she was in the midst of getting a divorce. I spout off how I have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath trailer she can buy. Her eyes totally lit up! That is exactly what she is looking for! I instantly got chills. She said she was going to drive by after work. She has a friend who will be moving with her, so she wants her to look at it too. Thinking or maybe hoping she would want to come in and look at it today I knew I was in trouble cleaning wise! It had been 3 weeks since my cleaning lady had been in and I know she isn't available for emergency calls so I made the call to my former cleaning lady and she came down and did the job for me! I was so appreciative that she was able to help me out!

While she was cleaning I finished up at the salon and finished my errands. I think I was home 10 minutes with my former cleaning lady when the potential buyer drove by. She didn't stop and come in though. Maybe she thought I had company and didn't want to intrude. I don't know. I was really hoping she would come in this afternoon fall in love with my house and this would actually be happening. It would certainly be a huge boost to me if this could happen. Please say an extra prayer for me guys...because this would be so great if this would happen for us!!!

After a little nap this afternoon I picked up some dinner, made my way to my aunt's and after chowing on a good steak we headed up to our annual trip back in time for Halloween. The munchkin was not able to make his last game of the fall season this morning and had to miss the trip to McDonald's with his team, because of being sick. He was totally bummed. He asked every hour if he could still go tonight. Since he was no longer contagious we opted to go and he had a pretty good time. You could tell he was still feeling punky though.

Even though I haven't accomplished as much this weekend as I wanted it has been one helluva roller coaster ride for the last couple of days. Now if only I could either recover those 3 hours I've lost in the last two days or figure out how to get my ass out of bed on time I might enjoy this ride a little more these days.

Judging My Week On Hump Day. Verdict=Having A Moment

What a crazy week so far. I didn't go into my externship Monday so I could study for my midterms. Well, I didn't study that day...no shock there. I just can't seem to get it together. The one thing I did Monday was I took my two midterms. Or should I say Monday I failed my two midterms. But I've been attempting to not dwell on this fact and since I haven't confirmed this, yet, I will continue to try to not dwell on it. After we finished, some of the guys we've been in classes with since the start wanted to go for drinks. I had opted out, but then my LSBFF twisted my arm and I went for one drink. Things were good until on my drive home.

While I was making my way home I started feeling really achy, especially in my legs, hips and lower back. I figured it was just nerves. After I got home I ate a little something because I was starving and then all of a sudden it hit me. What "it" was I'm not sure, but I couldn't sit anymore, I couldn't look at anything anymore. I knew that I had to get to bed within the next minute or something bad was going to happen. I didn't know anything else other than I had to lay down. So I did just that. I ended up not going to my Externship Tuesday either, because of how I felt and I called into work too. I was hoping to get some sleep hoping that this was part of my problem, being exhausted.

Of course I couldn't fall back asleep once I woke up at 7am. Finally at 8:30am I got out of the bed, came out to the living room and started working on paperwork. I still wasn't feeling 100%, so I had some chicken noodle soup.

I think I finished my bar application that afternoon, but I have this fear of clicking on "complete"...but I don't know why. Maybe it is the fear that it will be incorrect or I will have forgotten something. But I'm committing to hitting "complete" in one week. Once I have my fingerprinting done next Tuesday and make a trip to my local courthouse to pick up some additional documents I need I will have to hit "complete" and make my way to the post office to mail that bad boy. How scary is that?!? YIKES!!!

Yesterday afternoon I also did some homework so that was good too.

I did make it to work today, so that is a positive or so my bosses think so!

I also decided to delete a few things from my to-do list, because of a few situations I've ran into.
The other good news is the fact that in 2 days the weekend will be here. Thank goodness.

*~~Since we are getting so close to getting the munchkin's Christmas pictures done I've decided to just combine them again like I did last year and get them all done at once in November/December...
**~~Due to the fact that I'm having to go back to my Ortho Surgeon for the cyst on my wrist, which has began hurting practically all day with every thing I do, I've decided to put this off for a week or two. Hopefully he will do what he did last year and it will stop hurting so I can get back to normal...at least till after the bar!
***~~I called to make a mani/pedi appointment while my salon is offering BOGO on Wednesdays this month, but of course there are no openings...ugh. I was able to schedule my birthday massage for the last Saturday of the month. I definitely think I need it...

Who Needs Noodles?

I made a big batch of spaghetti sauce tonight and I was thinking...the only things I really like about spaghetti is the sauce and the garlic bread so why waste the calories on the noodles. So for dinner I had a bowl of spaghetti sauce and garlic bread! Yummy!! I, of course, ate more than I should have, but without the noodles I feel like I did better than I would have had I fixed it with the noodles!

This morning I overslept...again. I did the same thing yesterday too. I think there is something wrong with me! I woke up at 9:15am and my hair appointment was for 10am. Opps! I rushed around and did what I had to do and arrived about 3 mins late for my appointment. I had my highlights updated, did a little tax reading under the dryer and then left there to have my blood taken for my allergy test scheduled for Tuesday! After my blood work I did a couple errands and met up with the munchkin and my aunt for lunch @ Johnny Rockets! Yummy!!

I was able to keep a semblance of control at JR's. I only had a single with cheese and onion rings and a diet coke. I had planned on getting a chocolate malt to go, but then I decided to just finish the munchkin's child size shake instead, but after I sat it in front of me (I was on the phone with my man) my aunt reached right over to move it while I was paying the bill. I hung up and my aunt told me she didn't tell the waiter that I wanted a small malt to go. I told her it was probably for the best. She then said she wouldn't have finished the munchkin's shake if she had known that. Well...a little too late, huh? I wanted to say, "Why did you think I put it in front of me?!?" But I didn't. I just said that was probably for the best too. She then went on how she knows I really like JR's shakes. I told her not to worry about it.

After lunch I ran another errand and then came home instead of finishing my errands. I decided to lay down for an hour because I was feeling sort of out of it. I think that may be caused by the fact that I cannot take any allergy medicine in preparation of my allergy tests next week. My facial/waxing appointment was at 3:15pm so I set my alarm for 2:40pm. Well I overslept for this too! I hit snooze for 10 minutes and then at 2:50pm I reset the alarm for 2:55pm and again for 3pm and then again for 3:05pm. Um yeah...my salon is 20 minutes away from me! What the hell was I thinking?!? I just couldn't get myself out of that bed. I am seriously thinking there is something wrong with me!!!

I raced to my appointment and actually called to tell them I was running late, but was put on hold. When I walked into the salon, still on hold, I looked at my esthetician and said, "I'm sorry I'm late, but I'm on hold (showing her my phone ticking the seconds down) here right now to tell you I'm running late." We laughed and went back in the room. As she was doing my eyebrows my cell phone vibrated. It was the salon. So I answered it,

j'lynn: Hello?
Front Desk Girl: Hi j'lynn, this is FDG. Your appointment was at 3:15pm and your esthetician was worried and wanted to see if you were still coming.
j'lynn: FDG, I'm on esthetician's table right now getting waxed.

After the giggling, my esthetician got serious...she didn't give all of the details, but I surmised that her hubby caught her in an affair, which caused him to ram her car with his and has now lead into him being charged with two counts of felonious assault. I had suspected that his going to Canada for 6 months to work was actually them separating. The worst part is that he isn't a US citizen and this could cause him to get deported. They've been married 8 years and prior to this situation he has never even raised his voice to her and she thinks he just snapped that night. She feels partially bad, but is holding him responsible for his own actions that night too. I feel sorry for her and glad that no one got seriously hurt that night. Hopefully it works out for the best for everyone involved...

After I was finished with my pampering, I ran the rest of my errands and came home. With as much homework as I have you would think I would be busting that out. But outside of fixing my spaghetti and doing other small personal tasks and laundry I haven't gotten much done. I suspect that it is going to be an early night tonight so I can get up and bust some stuff out tomorrow! Well, early in my world...

A Week In Review

So, last Sunday night I started with a crazy little cough. I really thought it was my allergies acting up due to all of the rain and wind we've been experiencing. I soon learned that it wasn't just my allergies. Monday I hacked my way through work and then onto Urgent Care. By 7:30pm that night I was diagnosed with (another) sinus infection and an upper respiratory infection, had (re) started my antibiotics, and was already sound asleep!

Tuesday morning I got up at 5:40am, called into work and went back to bed. I got up again at 11:30am. Yes, 16 hours after I originally went to bed! I ate, emailed my laid-back Prof. about class that night and as soon as he responded saying that I was excused from attending my butt was back in bed by 2:30pm. I got up around 8:00pm that night and went back to bed by 10:30pm. Wednesday morning I called in again at quarter till 6am and didn't get up until 10:30am that morning after I talked with my guy and he told me I needed to get some fresh air to start feeling better. I was in complete agreement so after I got up I stripped my bed and lysol'd my room. I think did my laundry, picked up the house and got ready to go to class that night...I didn't want to push my luck.

Thursday I returned to work, but still felt pretty crappy. After work I went to my last S&L class and then picked up taco bell for the munchkin, aunt & I for dinner. When I walked through the door with dinner my aunt tells me that my bro is in the ER with what they think could be a broken jaw. WTF?!? This is where things really started to heat up this week! We were told how his manager sent him out to deal with a drug-dealing trucker and to tell him to leave and the guy hit him and took off into the woods. So I bbm his ol' lady and she starts going on how he is going to get fired because OSHA won't take his urine sample because they didn't collect it and the hospital gave him pain killers, etc. My mom is at their house with the 2 boys and the ol' lady is at the ER w/bro. In an effort to help I call my other aunt and we go to the hospital to get bro's keys and get his truck from work to his house. This was partly done, because I suspected that the two of them would be stupid enough to attempt to get the truck home upon bro's release regardless of the amount of drugs in his system.

We arrive at the hospital upon ignoring his ol' lady's bbm telling us there wasn't a need to be there. We walked into his ER room and were instantly hit with a wall of hostility. There was only one person in the room, his ol' lady. To say that she was hostile and rude to us is an understatement. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a family member in my life! After my bro returned to his room from radiology she threatened to go home so we could carry on with our party. Huh?!? Bitch, are you high?!? After constant unacceptable disrespect, I snapped. I fired back that I just came to help and obviously I'm harming so I took my bro's key and walked out of the hospital with my aunt. We went to bro's work, talked to his boss and the co-worker that was with bro when this went down. This is where we got the true account of what happened and it was just as we suspected...my idiot bro was his typical hot-headed self, confronted said drug-dealer against his manager's wishes and wouldn't let the man leave the premises while they waited for the police to show up. Dude pushed bro, bro pushed back, dude decked bro and according to his boss, bro got his ass whooped.

Well, Thursday night I finally got home around 11:30pm still pissed off. In an effort to unwind I decided to work on my TIVO backlog and started watching the Grey's Anatomy season finale. OMG!!!! Nine minutes in I was standing in the middle of my living room with my mouth wide open! Needless to say it did not help me unwind! Did anyone else see that???? I went to bed around 1:15am. I was still wide awake at 2:30am. Still pissed off about how we were treated hours earlier, so I rolled over, deleted both of them from bbm on my phone and rolled back over. I finally fell asleep sometime after 3am...

My ass was exhausted come Friday morning at work! I pushed through, got lots of stuff done at work and then made my way out to see my guy. :) I hit two hiccups on the way out there. The first one actually developed at lunch with a co-worker. The entire time we were at lunch I kept catching her looking at my boobs! It got to the point that I wanted to ask WTH?!? Instead I started to get the feeling that maybe you could see my green bra through my top so in a panic I decided to stop on my way out to see my guy and pick up a new bra! I just didn't want to relive the designer hole incident. The second hiccup was the frickin' rain! It has been raining off and on for days here. And when I say rain...I mean downpours! Thunder and lightening were in tow, of course. At one point I was driving 35mph in a 70mph speed zone. But it was all worth it to get those 2 hours with him. :) After my shitty week I really needed those 2 hours of down time... Needless to say I slept like a baby last night...

One Party Down, One To Go

So Saturday night was the parents' 25th Wedding Anniversary party. It went better than I expected. I always expect the worst when it comes to family events. Things were definitely strained between the bro & I, but that is nothing new. I don't know if we will ever get past that and I know there is no hope of me getting past my issues until after his fake wedding, so no need to worry about it now as we have another 5 weeks before that is over. So lets move on...

Everyone seemed to have a good time. Hell, I even danced (once)! My hair guy showed up as he and the salon owner were both invited, but the owner wasn't feeling well so he could not make it. I hope he starts feeling better soon! :) But my hair guy (who out did himself with my hair) commented on my makeup telling me he noticed me as soon as he walked into the hall from across the room, because my makeup just "popped"! He loved it! hehehe I did try something new and took my eyes much darker with some new deep green colors. I guess I found my "Saturday night make-up" versus my work makeup since all the fashion posts of the last couple of weeks said it should be different! LOL Heck, I even wore lipstick! This is a huge shocker for me. I haven't worn lipstick since high school with the exception of my wedding almost 10 years ago...

Actually I've been doing a few things lately that I haven't done in 10 years or longer, for instance wearing flip-flops! Yikes! I must really be having a crisis. LOL But I digress...

Of course we didn't leave until almost 10:30pm, which was 1.5-2 hours later than planned. That meant the munchkin didn't get to bed until almost midnight and I didn't get the sloppy joes for his party done until after 1am. Now I'm off to bed so I can get up extra early so we can do the first communion thing tomorrow and then I can get home after that party and get some things on my list done, because as you can tell I haven't had a chance to get much done this weekend other than pampering and partying...

Not what I was hoping for tonight

I was really hopeful that by tonight I would have a lot more of my homework done and several things checked off my to-do list, but alas that has not happened yet. All afternoon I've been pretty sleepy and had a sinus headache. At 8:37pm I even BBM'd mymormongirl and told her how sleepy I was. For several minutes I briefly considered a replay of last Saturday night, but I was able to hold off. Now I'm committed to being up for another hour and forty minutes since I just ate "dinner" about 20 mins ago and I need to check my blood sugar at the 2 hour mark...back to reading for Trial Practice I go.

After going to bed at 3:30am Wednesday night, thanks Trial Practice homework, I'm completely exhausted. I think I have 1500 pages to read this weekend for school and I suspect that all I will really want to do is sleep.

Opps...I didn't mean for that to happen!

Well, apparently I needed to work on #32 (Get some serious sleep!!) on my to-do list more than I needed to be pampered. Let me back up for a minute...last night I was so motivated and felt like I was getting so much done, so I kept going and before I knew it I was replying to one of Blaez's comments @ 2:46am! I went to bed around 3am and had my alarm set for 6am to get up and pick up where I left off. Most importantly I needed to get my oil change done this weekend (#6 on my list) before I took the munchkin in for his 9:30am appointment with the eye doctor (#8 on my list). Well, I'm sure this will shock you...I overslept! I got up about 7:15am, so I rushed a quick shower, pulled the hair back and was thankful that I had everything literally ready to walk out the door with! I dropped off my dry cleaning (#40 add on to my list), picked up my DDHC (the biggest size they had!), sugar-free & fat-free of course, and arrived to the dealer by 8:15am!

After getting my free oil change & free tire rotation (I love Ford's new Owner Advantage Program), I rushed to pick up the munchkin at my mom's and off to the eye doctor we went. His eyes are good, so that doesn't explain his daily complaints of headaches making me go 'hmmmm'! I dropped him back off to my mom and then came home. I had about 3 hours before my pampering appointment, so I ate some lunch and started working on my Litigation homework (#12 on my list). I was so sleepy due to the little bit of sleep I got last night, so I decided to lay down @ 1pm and set my crackberry alarm for 2:20pm to make my 3pm pampering appointment.

I was awakened by my phone ringing...it was my salon and it was now 3:22pm. Opps! So I had to reschedule my appointments to next Saturday. :( Guess I won't be getting pampered for another 7 days and #'s 25 & 26 will remain on my list of crap to do for another week... I guess I needed to sleep because I never heard my alarm at 2:20pm and I was sound asleep when they did call so I was totally out of it...

But I'm in a suit!

After my realization Wednesday night which lead to this, I was ready Thursday morning to get ready to go with my school work. I had made sure I had time in my schedule during the day to get prepped for my first oral argument in Pre-Trial Litigation. I washed my hair and "did it"! Hell, I even wore one of my suits...I was ready to kick ass! I pulled into my parking lot (late, of course~~it was 8:19am) and my cell began to vibrate. I realized it was an email from Prof. Wine:

"I fully expected to be well enough to hold class today, but this morning y body is telling me otherwise. Sorry I could not give you more of a warning. We will reschedule the oral arguments."

WHAT?!? WTF?!? But I'm in a suit and I'm ready to go!! Ugh... I then made an instant decision, after work I'm going to see my guy! :) Last visit was more emotional and that deep connection type of visit, so this visit was all about fun, giggles and lots of fun! :) It was a blast.

Now I have to face the weekend and everything I need to get done this weekend, so on to my Friday To-Do List, which has a lot of carry over from last Friday...

1. Leave work a little early
2. Check in on the wait for my local H1N1 vaccine clinic
3. Get the H1N1 vaccine for me & the munchkin
4. Write out my shopping list

7. Talk to the service manager @ my dealer about last week's episode when I attempted to get my oil changed

Time to respond but not tonight

My major Motion for Summary Judgment was due tonight at 6pm. I called it done at 5:15pm, scanned it, emailed it to "opposing counsel" and Prof. Wine and walked to my car at 5:40pm to make it to class for 6pm and hand in a hard copy. Sunday I spent over 10 hours researching, Tuesday I spent several hours reading my research and then several hours gathering useful information to put in my brief. I went to bed around 3am Tuesday night. I began "writing" the brief Wednesday night after class and crawled into bed around 3:30am last night. I then began working on it again this morning around 11am and called it "finished" when I had to this evening.

I sent a BBM to MyMormonGirl telling her how horrible of a piece of crap I turned in today and how I was so upset with myself. Apparently I got lost between page one and page ten.

I do have a chance to redeem myself and I will! This weekend I have to write a response to my opposing counsel's MSJ in the other case we have in PreTrial Lit. After turning in that piece of shit today, all I can do is go up from here! :)

But since the last two nights I've gotten an average of three hours of sleep each night, I will not even start to think about writing my response brief tonight. Instead I will think about the fact that I must get up early tomorrow to prep for my scheduled pampering tomorrow afternoon before I head in to work for 4 hours. Then I am off to shop using my birthday coupons before they expire Saturday, and then go for my birthday massage, my mani & my pedi!

Happy Sweetest Day!

I actually sort of forgot that today was Sweetest Day! And apparently my guy and I aren't celebrating since I didn't get a call today! LOL Usually I'm pretty good at remembering such insignificant things and getting cards out, but that didn't happen this year...opps!

So instead, I spent my Sweetest Day my attempting to get up early to get moving early and failed at that. I set the alarm for 6am, but didn't get up until 7:30am. Quick shower, threw my stuff together and out the door I went. My plan was to get #5 on my list done first, but instead I ran and picked up my DDHC and made my way to my hair salon to get my hair "did". Two and a half hours later I rushed to one of the outreach labs to get my tests done. Then I swung thru TB and picked up a couple of tacos and came home. After eating I still had a headache and since I didn't sleep worth crap last night I laid down for a little nap around 3pm. I had the alarm set for 4pm, but that didn't work out! I woke up when my mom called at 7:30pm! Is sleeping 4.5 hours really a nap?! LOL

I chatted with my mom for about 90 mins. She is super stressed since the trial for my nephews is less than a week away. Then at 9pm I couldn't seem to get motivated to do my homework or anything else. I was watching 'Bama win their homecoming game and decided I needed to do something productive for the day, so I got my reusable shopping bags and my cans and bottles together and off I went to grocery shop @ 10pm! It is actually nice to shop this late. Less people, better parking...what more could you ask for?


The list remains uneven.

Just another hump day

I am happy to report that I was able to get out of bed this morning and I was fine. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to get out of the bed since I was hurting last night. I guess I will have to go more frequently so I'm not so sore in the future...LOL I thought it sounded good!!

Went to the orthopedic surgeon this morning, again. For the last 2 weeks my wrist has been hurting really bad and I was afraid the cyst had came back and was worse. It was really bad at the beginning because I could hardly write my name let alone take notes in class. Of course after I had made today's appointment my wrist started to feel a bit better, but it is still swelled, tender and hurts. The doctor said he can't feel anything in there and he suspects that there may be a little cyst in the joint working its way out and hopefully it will surface or go away...only time will tell. I go back in a month to see how things are.

Tomorrow morning I go to the eye doctor to get a dilated eye exam. I've never had one and I'm hoping and praying that I have no complications and can go on to work right after the appointment. Keep your fingers crossed!

I am happy to report that I moved #9 to the accomplished list.

My master bath has double doors, but I keep the one to the left always closed. We have ever since we moved in. Well, obviously my massage and my motrin allowed me to get into a deep sleep last night, because when I woke up to use the restroom I walked right into the closed door. Ouch!! Then I ended up sleeping until 7am, which was not my plan. I went from home to the doctor's office where of course the doctor was running super late. Then I swung by a pizza place where my doctor is, picked up an antipasto salad (which is always delicious from there) and attempted to make my way to work. After sitting in the parking lot on the expressway because a semi lost the backhoe it was carrying, I finally made it to the office at 12:15pm. After a couple hours, I ended up with a killer headache, felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything at work and wishing I was back home, preferably sleeping!

I, of course, was tired today, which is no different than any other day. What was different, was when my boss' boss came in to my office and told me I looked tired. Nice! That is what a girl always wants to hear... Then during PR I almost feel asleep, literally. It is a boring ass class and I am tired, which is a bad combination. Two more days of work to go, one more night of classes.

I am happy to look at my calendar for this weekend and realize that the only thing outside of homework that I have to do this weekend is to celebrate my aunt's 63rd B-Day! That should help me get some of my shit done and some sleeping in! Woo-hoo!!

Pampering gone wrong??

Did my pampering go wrong or is this my first real experience with a deep tissue massage? I am incredibly sore. Like...can barely stand and walk sore. Like I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get off the table when she was done. Please please please tell me this will be better in the morning....

BTW, I have to admit I'm kind of digging the fact that there is a show on with a lawyer who has a hubby in prison! LMFAO Who knew that would ever happen, huh? Guess this soon-to-be lawyer with her man in prison will have to be very supportive of The Good Wife!! ;)

Okay, 800mgs of Motrin later, I'm off to bed now...hopefully I will be able to get up in the morning and out of bed.
