Space In My Head Discovered On Hump Day

The last couple of days I've been experiencing pain on the right side whenever I chew over there. So yesterday I had called and made an "emergent" appointment with my dentist. Of course before I got there the problem seemed to have started to resolve itself, but I already had the appointment and with my luck it would immediately return ten fold, so I went. Dr. Hearts informed me that I'm apparently grinding so much and biting so hard that I'm shifting my teeth... Of course! And now I've created space between a few of my teeth. Are you kidding me?!? Apparently having braces all those years ago didn't help solidify my teeth in my head. Go figure! With some additional steps in my dental routine and letting my right side rest by not chewing over there for a while he is hopeful that the discomfort will disappear. As for the spaces I've created...well, there isn't too much that can be done about that. Just great!

Just another hump day

I am happy to report that I was able to get out of bed this morning and I was fine. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to get out of the bed since I was hurting last night. I guess I will have to go more frequently so I'm not so sore in the future...LOL I thought it sounded good!!

Went to the orthopedic surgeon this morning, again. For the last 2 weeks my wrist has been hurting really bad and I was afraid the cyst had came back and was worse. It was really bad at the beginning because I could hardly write my name let alone take notes in class. Of course after I had made today's appointment my wrist started to feel a bit better, but it is still swelled, tender and hurts. The doctor said he can't feel anything in there and he suspects that there may be a little cyst in the joint working its way out and hopefully it will surface or go away...only time will tell. I go back in a month to see how things are.

Tomorrow morning I go to the eye doctor to get a dilated eye exam. I've never had one and I'm hoping and praying that I have no complications and can go on to work right after the appointment. Keep your fingers crossed!

I am happy to report that I moved #9 to the accomplished list.

My master bath has double doors, but I keep the one to the left always closed. We have ever since we moved in. Well, obviously my massage and my motrin allowed me to get into a deep sleep last night, because when I woke up to use the restroom I walked right into the closed door. Ouch!! Then I ended up sleeping until 7am, which was not my plan. I went from home to the doctor's office where of course the doctor was running super late. Then I swung by a pizza place where my doctor is, picked up an antipasto salad (which is always delicious from there) and attempted to make my way to work. After sitting in the parking lot on the expressway because a semi lost the backhoe it was carrying, I finally made it to the office at 12:15pm. After a couple hours, I ended up with a killer headache, felt like I wasn't accomplishing anything at work and wishing I was back home, preferably sleeping!

I, of course, was tired today, which is no different than any other day. What was different, was when my boss' boss came in to my office and told me I looked tired. Nice! That is what a girl always wants to hear... Then during PR I almost feel asleep, literally. It is a boring ass class and I am tired, which is a bad combination. Two more days of work to go, one more night of classes.

I am happy to look at my calendar for this weekend and realize that the only thing outside of homework that I have to do this weekend is to celebrate my aunt's 63rd B-Day! That should help me get some of my shit done and some sleeping in! Woo-hoo!!

Ice Cream is being served and it isn't even 10am

As you all know, I love me some hump day, but when the first email came out this morning at work reminding us that today is "Vision & Values Day" and then the third email saying, "Ice Cream is being served" I instantly became sad. I used to love these days...filled with Ice Cream Snickers Bars, Dove Ice Cream Bars, Drumsticks, Ice Cream Sandwiches. All of which are totally delicious and since the kitchen containing these treats is less than 10 feet from my office, it was always easy to sneak in for seconds or thirds or whatever...

Today was the first one since being diagnosed, so I was sad and fearful. I knew if I just stayed out of there I would be okay. Plus I had packed myself a lunch box filled with snacks today...banana, apple with peanut butter, carrotts with ranch (lite) dressing, sugar-free pudding, nacho chips, and grapes. But I had not packed enough ice for my water to last a total of 9 hours! So I decided to go in for ice and kept saying to myself (in my head, of course!), "You can do this. Just don't think about it. Think about you and your health. You can do this. Just don't look at them. In and out, in and out!" I entered the kitchen and saw all of the empty boxes stacked up, which included all of my old favorites, so I just repeated my manta until I saw it...PhillySwirl Sugar Free Sticks!!!!!! Vanilla creme swirled with orange, cherry or rasberry. Then I wondered how they would taste and what the carbs were in them. I began to investigate: 14 calories, 0 fat, 4 total carbohydrates with no sugars. So I grabbed one, raced back to my office 10 feet away and opened it up...IT WAS DELCIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad I needed ice and found this wonderful treat. It has been added to my shopping list too. I would like to say I am patting myself on my back, but I won't do that until our freezer is empty again, because I still remain only 10 steps away from that Dove Ice Cream bar...

Moments on Hump Day

Well, it is hump day again. Usually I'm a lot peppier for hump day, but not this week. On top of the original "moment" that I was originally suffering from (back over a month ago), which I truly believe I never got over, I'm now having down moments for various reasons. I am primarily down because of all of the family issues and more specifically because of my guy. I'm working on pulling myself out of this funk, but it is never easy...

In an effort to withdraw myself from this funk I'm working on my original to-do list. I accomplished a few of those things Monday (#6, #7, #8, & #9). Well, since a few of those weren't actually solved and crossed off I followed up on them yesterday. I called another exterminator to confirm the prior story and am waiting for a call back. I have also began to look for another fix it guy because my fix-it guy isn't returning my calls. Funny thing is that last night when we were getting ready to go to our Cinco de Mayo dinner someone was handing out flyers about handy-man services. Is this a sign? I guess I should try them, huh? Maybe they can solve my bee problem too.

Well yesterday I accomplished #1 and am working on #2 right now, except I'm skipping the folding and putting it away for now and if it doesn't get done by Friday I'll work on it then. I also went through my papers, but haven't "done" anything with them yet, but I weeded out the garbage so instead of several piles of papers, I'm down to an approximate 7" stack of papers to deal with...making progress y'all!

I know I will eventually pull out of my funk and a special letter in my mailbox would help me immensely! Also finishing my exams will help loads too! I have my Crim Sentencing final tonight @ 6pm and then I HAVE to take my Crim Pro before 11:59pm Thursday. I'm so not prepared, but it is my own fault. Needless to say, good thing I usually respond best under pressure. I'm just hoping that this time is like the others...

Of course the fact that my allergies are trying to smoother me with post-nasal drip (sorry for the nasty part here!) is not helping. It gets worse the later it gets...I'll be glad when the little white fuzzies and flowers stop flying around. :(

Oh yeah...I went through almost all of my emails last night too! I did have over 40 emails and now I'm down to 2 to respond to...that I'm ultra proud of! Yay Me!

April Fools

Well, today is the day. Some of us love it, some of us hate it, some of us could care less! It has been a long time since someone has played an April Fools Joke on me, outside of my munchkin~of course! I think that comes with getting older and more mature...I think! And on top of it being April Fools Day it is also Hump Day! Each time I look at the calendar it gets better and better! LOL

I've had one hell of a busy week so far. Sunday I worked on some homework, but didn't get nearly enough done. Monday was a prison tour for class. It was actually pretty interesting. More so than what I thought. I told my man about it and how it smelled in there and he said it smells like "ass"! LOL I think he may be right. The other areas we smelled I think was associated with whatever was prepared that day for dinner, which smelled like it might taste like ass. It was definitely not the freshest place to be and if you are sensitive to smells...you don't want to go to prison! Of course there are a whole host of other reasons why you don't want to go, but add this to your list...it smells like ass! The best experience I thought from the whole tour was a guy in segregation telling us if we wanted to see real segregation to go to Level V, because "this here segregation (Level II) is nothing more than a country-club!" Combine that with the dancing man and his $5Million dollar civil suit and the man who did not want us looking in his cell (as he stood in his window the entire time we were in there)...that is where they should bring people for entertainment! It was the best! LOL

After the prison trip was on to class with a sick Prof. W! Why oh why do people attempt to do their job when they are so sick? For instance, my aunt has bronchitius from one of her co-workers who prides herself on never missing time from work! Well, that is all fine and dandy, but you live alone and aren't around other people. My aunt is my babysitter, so if she goes down with some funky illness, I have to find replacements, not to mention the fact that now me and my munchkin are exposed! UGH...people like that piss me off! So I beg of all professors...please do not come to lecture us when you are on death's door, especially when we are only 4 weeks from starting exams! :( But I do hope Prof. W & my aunt & her co-worker all feel better very soon and more importantly, I hope we don't get it!!

Tuesday I called in! I just couldn't take it anymore! I did a little reading, but I seriously sleep too! My man called me about quarter to 9am, which woke me up. I got up and then laid back down about 10:30am and slept till after 1pm. I got up and went back to bed at 3:30pm and slept until almost 6pm. I stayed up, we ordered pizza and then off to bed I went again at 11:30pm, but I read Crim Pro for another hour and then went to sleep again. I think I have sleep-itis! EEK!!! Of course I came in to my office to be greated by 11 new files! WTF?!

So I'm working my fanny off today and paying for taking that day yesterday! Whatev! I will have a later/future posting about squeeky bladders being an excuse for a lube job! Leave it to my work's restroom to bring about another post....and yes, we are all adults here! LOL

Family Health Issues...

Well, my uncle is in the hospital right now.  He is suffering from acute pancreatitis.  This has been going on for 3 weeks now.  We are hopeful that this treatment will help and hopefully this is not turning in to a case of chronic pancreatitis.  :(  Of course, my aunt/his wife, is currently suffering from shingles, poison ivy and some other crazy named thing all on her face...  I swear, when it rains it pours.  

On a separate note, my man got a new job in the kitchen.  Now he is a cook.  He told me he got to make spaghetti today.  Oh man...I miss his spaghetti sauce!  I know it wasn't as good as what I'm used to, but still...I could use some of his spaghetti sauce.  LOL  I am proud of him for getting promoted.  Of course he told me it was weird making so much stuff and it is just like in the movies, his "kettle" was so big, he stirred it with a plastic utensil that is as big as a boat oar and looks just like one!  Isn't that crazy?  And here I thought getting dinner on for my entire family is hard...and there is only around 10 of us!  (I know how many people are in my family, but since there are so many splintered issues going on, I didn't get specific with who may be at the next holiday meal...)

Another hump-day down...now I just have to make it to Friday!  I'm crossing my fingers that I make it!  LOL

Craziness on Hump Day!!

Some random craziness that has occurred on this every lovely hump day...

#1) I am NOT a morning person and since I don't go to bed early I set a few alarms to get me up. I set my alarm clock, which is in my bathroom and then I set my cell phone alarm clock, which is on my night stand. Well, the cell phone alarm went off and when I picked it up to hit snooze I dropped it between the bed and the nightstand. It was still going off! So I had to find it, thank god my phone glows when the alarm goes off. I still proceeded to go back to sleep and over slept this morning. So I got up and hopped in the shower with the full knowledge that I wasn't going to wash my hair to save time. Too bad my hands didn't know that!! I proceeded to put my face soap in my hands rup them together and apply it to my hair.......WAIT?! HAIR??!!!...yes, I said hair. Apparently someone wanted me to wash my hair, because I used my uber-expensive face soap on the top of my head. As soon as I sat my hand up there I had that "Duh!" moment. Wrong area of my head. It was suppose to go on my face dang it!! I tried "wiping out" the face soap from my pulled back hair and after more bubbles formed each time I decided I had to wash my hair this morning. Sorry "The CH", I was late due to malfunctioning face soap!!

#2) While working I have a report that I just completed and my cell phone on top because I was texting with my LSBFF. I grab the report to put it away behind me on a shelf and as I begin to slide the report on to the shelf I realize I'm putting away my cell phone not the report. WTH?

#3) I have a bad habit when I'm inter-officing things to forget to write on the envelope who I'm sending it to. This has lead to several items of being sent back to me, from me! Well, I had kept my "problem" under wraps until today. After washing my hair with face soap, but before filing away my cell phone I walked in to my office to see something I sent to the secretary back on my desk with the envelope I mailed it in... This time I sent it to our LPU department. The gig is up! The woman who put it there came in later and asked if I got the stuff she put on my desk. She then asked if I incorrectly mailed it or did that crazy secretary send it down to her on accident. I so wanted to put the blame on the secretary, but then I would feel bad so instead I said...'well, I think it might have been me, but maybe she did it. Who knows....guess it is from too much work!' We laughed together and my "problem" discussion disappeared again. Today is not the day to become more deligent with my envelope addressing......

#4) My car guy returned my call verifying we are on track and asks me to come in this Saturday to get some paperwork done...and then says, "Plus I've got a surprise for you." I say what you are suppose to say when someone says such things, "You do???" (all excited, of course!). His response was, "Yes, I got you a car." Okay.....not what I was thinking because that was the obvious, right? Isn't that your job? Didn't we go over the details of what I wanted when I came in 2 weeks ago? I thought my job was to get my Pin # and your job was to get my car. And this is a surprise? How???? I verified with my LSBFF, before I filed away my phone, that car people are weird.

Hump Day...Need I Say More?

I must say other than feeling extremely overwhelmed this week has been a good week so far.  I'm just starting to feel the mid-semester pressure mixed with the income tax pressure.  As we say...too much to do and not enough time to get it all done!  The story of my life...  

Let me recap today's menu plan...
Breakfast...2 eggs and a slice of toast
Snack...Lean Cuisine Frozen 3 Meat Pizza Meal
Lunch...Healthy Choice Fresh Mix Southwestern Chicken Meal
Snack...Grapes
Dinner...12" meatball sub (but no double meat or double cheese!)
Snack...Sweet tea & a vanilla cone

I did manage to get my full 64 ozs of water in today, along with a trip to the gym.  I did 20 mins on the treadmill.  Not much, but better than nothing.  Babysteps....

While I was at the gym tonight I noticed something.  When I went shopping a couple weeks ago I made sure I picked up a couple new workout outfits.  Nothing fancy...just comfortable and short sleeves to make me cooler than my original 2 workout outfits.  So this week I've enjoyed working out in my new workout outfits!  :D  However, as I looked around tonight and made some observations...people working out in jeans and guys wearing hoodies, with the hoods up while running on treadmills.  Did I miss something in workout attire?  

I understand that I'm significantly overweight so I'm going to sweat a little more than the in-shape person, but seriously?!  Running with a hoodie on?!?  Come on people!!!  Your overuse of a hoodie while working out is causing me to overuse punctuation...

Hump Day...one of my favorite week days

Happy Hump Day!  

This is one of my favorite weekdays.  The others are Friday, Saturday and the fact that I don't have to work I like Sundays too.  I try not to think about the fact that I have to go back the next day!  LOL

You may wonder~why is hump day my favorite day of the week?  Well, put your dirty cap on and you will know I just like to say "Happy Hump Day!"  hehe

I don't know if we will have power tomorrow as I sit here feeling the house shake thanks to the wind gusts up to 60mphs!  I'm totally exhausted, so I'm off to bed a little earlier than the other nights this week, so I hope everyone has a great night!
